ഉത്തർപ്രദേശിലെ ലഖിംപുർ ഖേരിയിലെ സംഘർഷ സ്ഥലത്തെത്തിയ കോൺഗ്രസ് നേതാവ് പ്രിയങ്ക ഗാന്ധിയെ അറസ്റ്റു ചെയ്തെന്ന് സ്ഥിരീകരിക്കാത്ത വിവരം. പ്രിയങ്കയെ ഹാർഗാവിൽനിന്നു അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തതായി യൂത്ത് കോൺഗ്രസ് ദേശീയ പ്രസിഡന്റ് ബി വി ശ്രീനിവാസ് ട്വീറ്റ് ചെയ്തു. ഇന്ന് പുലർച്ചെയാണ് പ്രിയങ്ക ലഖിംപുർ ഖേരിയിലെത്തിയത്.

നേരത്തേ സംഘര്‍ഷ സ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് പോകാനൊരുങ്ങിയ പ്രിയങ്കയെ ലക്നൗവില്‍ വച്ച് യുപി പൊലീസ് തടഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് അര്‍ധരാത്രിയോടെ കാല്‍നടയായി പ്രിയങ്കയും സംഘവും ലഖിംപുർ ഖേരിയിലേക്ക് യാത്ര തിരിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് പൊലീസ് അനുമതിയോെട വാഹനത്തിലായിരുന്നു പ്രിയങ്കയുടെ യാത്ര. ഇത് കർഷകരുടെ രാജ്യമെന്നും കർഷകരെ കാണുന്നതിൽനിന്ന് എന്തിന് തടയുന്നുവെന്നും പ്രിയങ്ക ചോദിച്ചു. കർഷകരുടെ ശബ്ദം കൂടുതൽ ശക്തമാകുമെന്നും അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

ലഖിംപുർ ഖേരിയിൽ പ്രതിഷേധിക്കുന്ന കർഷകർക്കിടയിലേക്കു കാറുകൾ ഇടിച്ചുകയറിയതിനെ തുടർന്ന് 4 പേരും ഈ കാറുകൾ കത്തിച്ചതിനെ തുടർന്ന് 4 പേരും കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. കാറുകളിലൊന്ന് ഓടിച്ചിരുന്നതെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര ആഭ്യന്തര സഹമന്ത്രി അജയ് മിശ്രയുടെ മകനാണെന്നാണ് കർഷകരുടെ ആരോപണം. കർഷകർ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടതിൽ പ്രതിഷേധം ശക്തമാക്കാനാണ് കർഷക സംഘടനകളുടെ തീരുമാനം. അജയ് മിശ്ര രാജിവയ്ക്കണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് കർഷകർ ഇന്ന് രാജ്യവ്യാപക പ്രതിഷേധം നടത്തും. 

Unconfirmed reports that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has been arrested in connection with the clashes in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. Youth Congress national president BV Srinivas tweeted that Priyanka had been arrested from Harga. Priyanka arrived at Lakhimpur Kheri this morning.

Earlier, Priyanka was stopped by UP police in Lucknow on her way to the spot. Then at midnight, Priyanka and her party returned to Lakhimpur Kheri on foot. Later, Priyanka was traveling in a vehicle with the permission of the police. Priyanka asked if this is a country of farmers and why they are prevented from seeing farmers. She said the voice of the farmers would be louder.

At least four people have been killed after a car rammed into a group of protesting farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri. The farmers alleged that he was the son of Union Home Minister Ajay Mishra who was driving one of the cars. The decision of the farmers' organizations was to intensify the protest against the killing of the farmers. Farmers will stage a nationwide protest today demanding the resignation of Ajay Mishra.
