ഒമിക്രോൺ - വീണ്ടും യാത്രാവിലക്ക് ഉൾപ്പടെ നിയന്ത്രണം കടുപ്പിച്ച് രാജ്യങ്ങൾ
കോവി‍ഡിൻ്റെ പുതിയ വകഭേദമായ ഒമിക്രോണിനെതിരെ ഇന്ത്യയടക്കം വിവിധ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ജാഗ്രത ശക്തമാക്കി. തെക്കേആഫ്രിക്കയിലെ 10 രാജ്യങ്ങളിലേക്കും തിരിച്ചുമുള്ള യാത്ര യുകെ നിരോധിച്ചു. ഇന്നലെ യുകെയിൽ 2 പേർക്ക് ഒമിക്രോൺ സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. ബ്രിട്ടൻ അടക്കമുള്ള 12 രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്നുള്ളവർക്ക് ഇന്ത്യ നിരീക്ഷണം ഏർപ്പെടുത്തി. വിദേശത്തു നിന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ എത്തുന്നവരുടെ ആരോഗ്യസ്ഥിതി നിരീക്ഷിക്കാനും പരിശോധനകൾ ഊർജിതമാക്കാനും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി നിർദേശിച്ചു. ജനങ്ങൾ മാസ്ക് ധരിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും സുരക്ഷിത അകലം പാലിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും ഉറപ്പാക്കണം. കൂടുതൽ കോവിഡ് കേസുകൾ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്യുന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ പ്രതിരോധ, നിരീക്ഷണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ഊർജിതമാക്കാനും ഉന്നതതല അവലോകന യോഗത്തിൽ മോദി നിർദേശിച്ചു.
ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിൽ നിന്നെത്തിയ ഒരാൾ ജർമനിയിൽ ഒമിക്രോൺ സംശയിച്ചു നിരീക്ഷണത്തിലാണ്. ബോട്സ്വാന, ലെസോത്തോ, എസ്വാട്ടീനി, സിംബാബ്‌വെ, നമീബിയ എന്നിവയ്ക്കു പുറമേ ഹോങ്കോങ്, ഇസ്രയേൽ, ബൽജിയം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലും ഒമിക്രോൺ വൈറസിന്റെ സാന്നിധ്യം റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ആശങ്കയുടെ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ യുഎസ് 8 ആഫ്രിക്കൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ളവർക്ക് വിലക്കേർപ്പെടുത്തി. കാനഡ, സൈപ്രസ് എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളും യാത്ര വിലക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിൽ നിന്നുള്ളവർക്ക് ബംഗ്ലദേശും ശ്രീലങ്കയും പ്രവേശനവിലക്ക് ഏർപ്പെടുത്തി. ദക്ഷി‌ണാഫ്രിക്കയും ഹോളണ്ടും തമ്മിൽ നടക്കാനിരുന്ന ഏകദിന ക്രിക്കറ്റ് പരമ്പര മാറ്റിവച്ചു. തെക്കേ ആഫ്രിക്കൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ളവർക്ക് സൗദി അറേബ്യയും യുഎഇയും ഒമാനും നാളെ മുതൽ പ്രവേശനവിലക്ക് ഏർപ്പെടുത്തുകയും, ഇതേതുടർന്ന് യുഎഇ വിമാനക്കമ്പനികളായ എമിറേറ്റ്സും ഇത്തിഹാദും ഈ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വിമാനങ്ങൾ റദ്ദാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
രാജ്യത്തേക്ക് എത്തുന്ന മുഴുവൻ യാത്രക്കാരും പ്രതിരോധ നടപടികൾ സ്വീകരിക്കണമെന്ന് കുവൈത്ത് അഭ്യർഥിച്ചു. ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്ക ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള 7 രാജ്യങ്ങളെ കൂടി ഖത്തർ കോവിഡ് അപകട സാധ്യത കൂടിയ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി. ഇവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള യാത്രക്കാർക്ക് ഖത്തർ എയർവേയ്‌സും യാത്രാ വിലക്കും ഏർപ്പെടുത്തി.
വിവിധ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ കോവിഡ് പരിശോധന, ക്വാറന്റീൻ തുടങ്ങിയ നിബന്ധനകൾ കർശനമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിൽ നിന്നെത്തുന്ന യാത്രക്കാരെ മുംബൈയിൽ ക്വാറന്റീൻ ചെയ്യും. ആഫ്രിക്കൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നെത്തുന്നവർക്ക് കർണാടക ആർടിപിസിആർ പരിശോധനയും ക്വാറന്റീനും നിർബന്ധമാക്കി.

Vigilance has been intensified in various countries, including India, against Omicron, the new variant of Covid. The UK has banned travel to and from 10 countries in South Africa. Omicron was confirmed for 2 people in the UK yesterday. India has monitored people from 12 countries, including Britain. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed to monitor the health status of those coming to India from abroad and intensify screening. People need to make sure they wear masks and keep a safe distance. During the high-level review meeting, Modi also directed to intensify defense and surveillance activities in areas where more Covid cases are being reported.
A man from South Africa is under surveillance in Germany on suspicion of omicron. In addition to Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Zimbabwe and Namibia, the virus has been reported in Hong Kong, Israel and Belgium.
US restrict travelers from eight countries. Canada and Cyprus have also banned travel. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have banned entry to South Africa. The one-day cricket series between South Africa and the Netherlands has been postponed. Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Oman will impose entry restrictions on South African nationals from tomorrow, following which UAE airlines Emirates and Etihad will cancel flights from these countries.
Kuwait has requested all travelers arriving in the country to take precautionary measures. Qatar has also added seven other countries, including South Africa, to its list of high-risk countries. Qatar Airways has imposed a travel ban on passengers from these destinations.
Conditions such as Covid inspection and quarantine have been tightened in various states. Passengers coming from South Africa will be quarantined in Mumbai. The Karnataka RTPCR has made inspection and quarantine mandatory for those coming from African countries.
