കറാച്ചി പോലീസ് ചീഫ് ഓഫീസിന് നേരെ തീവ്രവാദി ആക്രമണം; 20 പോലീസുകാർ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു.

കറാച്ചിയിലെ ഷെറിയ ഫൈസൽ റോഡിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന  കറാച്ചി പോലീസ് ചീഫിൻ്റെ ഓഫീസിന് നേരെ തീവ്രവാദി ആക്രമണം. തീവ്രവാദ സംഭവങ്ങൾ രാജ്യത്തുടനീളം വർധിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ സുരക്ഷാ സേനയ്‌ക്കെതിരായ ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ ആക്രമണം ജിയോ ന്യൂസിനോട് സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു.വൈകുന്നേരം 7:10 ന് ആരംഭിച്ച ആക്രമണം ഇപ്പോഴും തുടരുകയാണ്, അഞ്ച് നിലകളുള്ള പോലീസ് കെട്ടിടത്തെ തീവ്രവാദികൾ ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടതിന് ശേഷം ഒന്നിലധികം സ്ഫോടനങ്ങൾ നടന്നതായി റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആക്രമണത്തിൻ്റെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം ടെഹ്‌രിക്‌-ഇ-താലിബാൻ ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. പോലീസ് ചീഫിനെ തീവ്രവാദികൾ ബന്ദിയാക്കിയതായി അഭ്യഹം നിലനിൽക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. 

പോലീസ് യൂണിഫോം ധരിച്ചാണ് അക്രമികൾ ഓഫീസിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചതെന്ന് പേര് വെളിപ്പെടുത്താൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കാത്ത ഒരു പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥൻ പറഞ്ഞു. 80 ലധികം ആളുകളുടെ ജീവൻ അപഹരിച്ച പെഷവാർ മസ്ജിദ് ചാവേർ ആക്രമണത്തിലും സമാനമായ നീക്കം ഇവിടെയും നടന്നത്. ഭീകരരെ വാദിക്കാനുള്ള ഓപ്പറേഷനിടെ, രണ്ട് തീവ്രവാദികൾ കൊല്ലപ്പെടുകയും റേഞ്ചേഴ്സ് പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ ഉൾപ്പെടെ ഏഴ് പേർക്ക് പരിക്കേൽക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. തീവ്രവാദികളുടെ മൊത്തം എണ്ണം ഇപ്പോൾ അറിവായിട്ടില്ലെന്നും  നിരവധി റൗണ്ട് വെടിയുതിർത്തതായും പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ പറഞ്ഞു.

ഭീകരരെ നേരിടാൻ പോലീസിന്റെയും റേഞ്ചേഴ്‌സിന്റെയും കമാൻഡോകൾ സ്ഥലത്തെത്തിയതായി ജിയോ ന്യൂസിനോട് പ്രത്യേകമായി സംസാരിച്ച ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രി റാണ സനാഉല്ല പറഞ്ഞു. ഫെഡറൽ ഗവൺമെന്റ് സിന്ധ് പോലീസുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും എല്ലാ സഹായവും നൽകുമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. ചീഫ് സെക്രട്ടറിയുമായും ഐജി സിന്ധുമായും സംസാരിച്ചതായി സനാഉല്ല പരാമർശിച്ചു, "ആറ് മുതൽ ഏഴ് വരെ തീവ്രവാദികൾ" കെട്ടിടത്തിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത് പോലീസ് കണ്ടതായി സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു.

Terrorist attack on Karachi Police Chief's office located on Sheria Faisal Road, Karachi. The latest attack on security forces has been confirmed to Geo News amid increasing incidents of terrorism across the country. The attack which started at 7:10 pm is still ongoing and multiple explosions were reported after the militants targeted the five-storey police building. Tehrik-e-Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. It is rumored that the police chief has been taken hostage by terrorists.

A police officer, who did not want to be named, said the assailants entered the office wearing police uniform. A similar move was made here in the Peshawar mosque attack that claimed the lives of more than 80 people. During the operation to nab the terrorists, two terrorists were killed and seven people, including Rangers police personnel, were injured. Police officials said that the total number of militants is not yet known and several rounds were fired.

Speaking exclusively to Geo News, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that police and Rangers commandos have reached the spot to deal with the terrorists. He said the federal government is in touch with the Sindh police and will provide all assistance. Sanaullah mentioned that he had spoken to the Chief Secretary and IG Sindh, who confirmed that the police had seen "six to seven militants" entering the building.
