ബൊമ്മയെ വെച്ച് തുടരാൻ യെദിയൂരപ്പ

ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രിയും തൻ്റെ അടുത്ത വിശ്വസ്തനുമായ ബസവരാജ് ബൊമ്മെയെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിപദത്തിലേക്കു കൈപിടിച്ചുയർത്തുമ്പോൾ യെഡിയൂരപ്പയെന്ന ‘രാഷ്ട്രീയ ഭീഷ്മാചാര്യൻ’ കർണാടകത്തിലെ ഭരണം നിയന്ത്രിക്കും എന്ന നിലയിലേക്കാണ് കാര്യങ്ങൾ പോകുന്നത്. കർണാടകയിൽ ബിജെപി എന്ന പാർട്ടിയെ പടുത്തുയർത്തിയതിനു താനൊഴുക്കിയ വിയർപ്പും പ്രയത്നവും അങ്ങനെ വൃഥാവിലാകാൻ വിടില്ലെന്ന മുന്നറിയിപ്പു നൽകുകയാണു യെഡിയൂരപ്പ. അങ്ങനെ മറ്റൊരു മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ മകൻ കൂടി കർണാടകയിൽ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിപദത്തിലേക്ക്.

ജനതാദളിൻ്റെ ലിംഗായത്ത് മുഖവും കർണാടകയുടെ കരുത്തനായ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുമായിരുന്ന എസ്.ആർ.ബൊമ്മെയുടെ മകനാണു ബസവരാജ് ബൊമ്മെ. മുൻ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി എച്ച്.ഡി.ദേവെഗൗഡയും മകൻ എച്ച്.ഡി.കുമാരസ്വാമിയും കർണാടകയിൽ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിമാരായ പിതാവും പുത്രനുമാണ്. ദേവെഗൗഡയുടെ കൗശല രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിനു പിടികൊടുക്കാതെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജനതാദൾ വിട്ടു ജനതാദൾ (യു)വിലേക്കു പോയ നേതാവാണു ബൊമ്മെ. പിതാവിന്റെ പാർട്ടിയിൽതന്നെയായിരുന്നു ബസവരാജും തുടക്കത്തിൽ.

കർണാടക നിയമനിർമാണ സഭയിലെ ഉപരിസഭയായ നിയമനിർമാണ കൗൺസിലിൽ 1998ലും 2004ലും ധാർവാർഡ് ജില്ലയിൽനിന്ന് അംഗമായ അദ്ദേഹം 2008ലാണു ജനതാദൾ (യു) വിട്ടു യെഡിയൂരപ്പയ്ക്കൊപ്പം ചേർന്നത്. അന്നു വടക്കൻ കർണാടകയിലെ ഹാവേരി ജില്ലയിലെ ഷിഗോണിൽ ബിജെപി ടിക്കറ്റിൽ സ്ഥാനാർഥിയുമായി. 2008ൽ യെഡിയൂരപ്പയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ബിജെപി ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യയിൽ ആദ്യമായി താമര വിരിയിച്ച ചരിത്രപരമായ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ ഷിഗോൺ ബസവരാജിനും വിജയം നൽകി. 2013ലും 2018ലും ബൊമ്മെ തുടർച്ചയായി അവിടെനിന്നു വിജയിച്ചു. കന്നിവിജയത്തിൽതന്നെ വിശ്വസ്തനു യെഡിയൂരപ്പ മന്ത്രിപദവും നൽകി. പിന്നീട് എല്ലാ ബിജെപി മന്ത്രിസഭകളിലും ജൂനിയർ ബൊമ്മെയെ യെഡിയൂരപ്പ ചേർത്തു നിർത്തി.

സഹകരണം, ജലവിഭവം, കായികം തുടങ്ങിയ വകുപ്പുകൾ കൈ കാര്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള ബസവരാജ് നിലവിൽ ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രിയായിരുന്നു. ബി.എസ്.യെഡിയൂരപ്പയുടെ വിശ്വസ്തരായ ലിംഗായത്ത് നേതാക്കൾ ബിജെപിയിൽ വേറെയുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരിൽതന്നെ ഏറ്റവും വിശ്വസ്തനാണു യെഡിയൂരപ്പ ബാറ്റൺ കൈമാറുന്നത്. ഒരുപക്ഷേ ഈ മന്ത്രിസഭയുടെ കാലാവധി തീരും മുൻപു വീണ്ടുമൊരങ്കത്തിനു തനിക്ക് അവസരം വന്നാൽ മാറിത്തരുന്നയാളായിട്ടാകും യെഡിയൂരപ്പ ബസവരാജിനെ കാണുക.

യെഡിയൂരപ്പയുടെ വിശ്വസ്തനാണെങ്കിലും ബസവരാജ് ബൊമ്മെ അഴിമതി വിരുദ്ധനായാണു പൊതുവെ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. അദ്ദേഹം മൃദുഭാഷിയും വിദ്യാസമ്പന്നനുമാണ്. യെഡിയൂരപ്പയുടെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ മകൻ വിജയേന്ദ്ര ഭരണത്തിൽ കൈകടത്തുന്നതും അഴിമതിക്കു നേതൃത്വം നൽകുന്നതുമാണു ബിജെപിയിൽ നേതൃമാറ്റ ആവശ്യം ശക്തമാക്കിയത്. ആ അഴിമതിക്ക് എതിരാണു ബൊമ്മെയും. എന്നാൽ പരസ്യമായി യെഡിയൂരപ്പയ്ക്കെതിരെ നിലപാടെടുക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ആകുമായിരുന്നില്ല. എന്നാൽ തന്റെ ഭരണത്തിലും വിജയേന്ദ്രയുടെയും യെഡിയൂരപ്പയുടെയും ഇടപെടലുണ്ടായാൽ ഒരു ‘ബൊമ്മ’ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായി തുടരുമോ എന്നതാണു പ്രസക്തമായ ചോദ്യം. മുൻപു സദാനന്ദ ഗൗഡയും ഇത്തരം ഇടപെടൽ സഹിക്കാതെയാണു മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിപദം വിട്ടതും.

Things are going to be that Yediyurappa, a 'Rashtriya Bhishmacharya', will control the administration in Karnataka when he raises his hand to the chief ministership of Home Minister and his close confidant Basavaraj Bomme. Yediyurappa warns that the sweat and effort he has put into building the BJP party in Karnataka will not be left in vain. Thus another chief minister's son also became chief minister of Karnataka.

Basavaraj Bomme is the son of S.R. Bomme, the lingayat face of janata dal and the strong chief minister of Karnataka. Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and his son H D Kumaraswamy are chief ministers father and son in Karnataka. Bomme was a leader who left his Janata Dal and went to janata dal (U) without catching up with Deve Gowda's shrewd politics. Basavaraj was also initially at his father's party.

He was a member of the Legislative Council, the upper house of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, from Dharward district in 1998 and 2004 and left the Janata Dal (U) in 2008 and joined Yediyurappa. He was then a candidate on a BJP ticket at Shigon in Haveri district of North Karnataka. In 2008, under Yeddyurappa's leadership, the BJP also won the historic elections in South India where lotus bloomed for the first time. Bomme won from there in a row in 2013 and 2018. Yediyurappa also gave ministerial post to the faithful in his maiden victory. Later, Yediyurappa kept Junior Bomme in all BJP cabinets.

Basavaraj, who has done the business of cooperation, water resources and sports, was currently home minister. There were other Lingayat leaders in the BJP who were loyal to BS Yediyurappa. Yediyurappa is the most trusted of them all. Perhaps yediyurappa basavaraj will be replaced if he gets a chance to return before the expiry of this cabinet.

Though a confidant of Yediyurappa, Basavaraj Bomme is generally known as anti-corruption. He is soft-language and educated. Yediyurappa's second son Vijayendra's hand in power and leading corruption has intensified the demand for a change of leadership in the BJP. Bomme is against that corruption. But he could not openly take a stand against Yediyurappa. But the pertinent question is whether a 'bomma' will continue as chief minister in the event of vijayendra and Yediyurappa's intervention in his rule as well. Sadananda Gowda had earlier left the chief ministership without enduring such interference.
