ടോക്യോ പാരാലിമ്പിക്‌സ് - ജാവലിൻ ത്രോയിൽ സുമിത്തിന് ലോക റെക്കോര്‍ഡോടെ സ്വര്‍ണം

പാരാലിമ്പിക്‌സില്‍ ജാവലിന്‍ ത്രോയില്‍ ഇന്ത്യക്ക് സ്വര്‍ണം. എഫ്64 വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ സുമിത് ആന്റിലാണ് ലോക റെക്കോര്‍ഡോടെ സ്വര്‍ണം കൊയ്തത്. ഫൈനലില്‍ മൂന്ന് തവണയാണ് സുമിത് ലോക റെക്കോര്‍ഡ് ഭേദിച്ചത്. 68.55 മീറ്റര്‍ എറിഞ്ഞായിരുന്നു സുമിത് മെഡല്‍ കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയത്.

ആദ്യ ശ്രമത്തില്‍ തന്നെ 66.95 മീറ്റര്‍ എറിഞ്ഞ് സുമിത് പുതിയ ലോക റെക്കോര്‍ഡ് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.  രണ്ടാം ശ്രമത്തില്‍ 68.08 മീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരം കടത്തി വീണ്ടും റെക്കോര്‍ഡ് തിരുത്തി. തുടര്‍ന്ന് അഞ്ചാം ശ്രമത്തില്‍ മിനിറ്റുകള്‍ക്ക് മുമ്പ് താന്‍ സൃഷ്ടിച്ച റെക്കോര്‍ഡെല്ലാം ഭേദിച്ച് 68.55 മീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരമെറിഞ്ഞ് സുമിത് പുതിയ ലോക റെക്കോര്‍ഡ് തന്റെ പേരില്‍ അരക്കിട്ടുറപ്പിച്ചു. ഒപ്പം സ്വര്‍ണവും. സുമതിനൊപ്പം മത്സരിച്ച മറ്റൊരു ഇന്ത്യന്‍ താരം സന്ദീപ് ചൗധരി നാലാമതായി. 62.20 മീറ്ററാണ് സന്ദീപ് ചൗധരിയുടെ മികച്ച നേട്ടം.

ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയയുടെ മൈക്കല്‍ ബുരിയാൻ വെള്ളിയും ശ്രീലങ്കയുടെ ദുലന്‍ കൊടിതുവാക്കു വെങ്കലവും നേടി. ഇരുവരും യഥാക്രമം 66.29 മീറ്ററും 65.61 മീറ്ററും എറിഞ്ഞാണ് സുമിതിന് പിന്നിലെത്തിയത്. പാരാലിമ്പിക്‌സില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണം നേടുന്ന ആദ്യ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വനിതയായി ഷൂട്ടര്‍ അവനി ലേഖ്‌റ നേരത്തെ ചരിത്രം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇതടക്കം ഇന്ത്യ ഇതുവരെ ഏഴ് മെഡലുകളാണ് പാരാലിമ്പിക്‌സില്‍ നേടിയത്. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ എക്കാലത്തേയും മികച്ച മെഡല്‍വേട്ടയാണ് ഇത്തവണത്തെ പാരാലിമ്പിക്‌സില്‍.

India won gold in the javelin throw at the Paralympics. Sumit Ant won gold in the F64 category with a world record. Sumit broke the world record three times in the final. Sumit won the medal by throwing 68.55 meters.

Sumit created a new world record by throwing 66.95 meters at the first attempt. In the second attempt, he covered a distance of 68.08 meters and corrected the record again. Then, minutes earlier in the fifth attempt, Sumit broke all the records he had created and set a new world record in his name, throwing 68.55 meters away. And gold. Another Indian player, Sandeep Chaudhary, who competed with Sumat, was fourth. Sandeep Chaudhary's best achievement is 62.20 metres.

Australia's Michael Burian won silver and Sri Lanka's Dulan Kodituauka took bronze. The duo threw 66.29 metres and 65.61 metres respectively to get behind Sumit. Shooter Avani Lehra had earlier made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win gold at the Paralympics. India has won seven medals at the Paralympics so far. India's best medal hunt of all time is at the Paralympics this time.
