ബംഗാളിലെ ബിർഭൂം കൂട്ടക്കൊലയിൽ സിബിഐ അന്വേഷണം

ബംഗാളിലെ ബിർഭൂം ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ 8 പേരെ ചുട്ടുകൊന്ന സംഭവത്തിൽ സിബിഐ അന്വേഷണത്തിന് ഉത്തരവിട്ട് കൽക്കട്ട ഹൈക്കോടതി. സമൂഹ മനഃസാക്ഷിയെ ഞെട്ടിച്ച സംഭവം എന്നു വ്യക്തമാക്കി, ഹൈക്കോടതി സ്വമേധയാ എടുത്ത കേസാണ് സിബിഐക്കു കൈമാറിയത്. കേസുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട എല്ലാ രേഖകളും, എ ഡി ജി പിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള നിലവിലെ പ്രത്യേക അന്വേഷണ സംഘം സിബിഐക്ക് കൈമാറണമെന്നും ഹൈകോടതി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. അന്വേഷണത്തിൽ സിബിഐയോട് സഹകരിക്കുമെന്നും എന്നാൽ കേസ് അട്ടിമറിക്കാൻ ബിജെപി കേന്ദ്ര നേതൃത്വം ശ്രമിച്ചാൽ, അതിനെ ശക്തമായി ചെറുക്കുമെന്നും തൃണമൂൽ കോൺഗ്രസ് വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

തൃണമൂൽ കോൺഗ്രസുമായി ബന്ധമുള്ള രണ്ടു ഗുണ്ടാ സംഘങ്ങളുടെ കുടിപ്പകയെത്തുടർന്ന് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം 8 പേരെ കൂട്ടക്കൊല ചെയ്ത സംഭവത്തിൽ സിബിഐ അന്വേഷണം വേണമെന്നു പ്രതിപക്ഷ കക്ഷികളും ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് ഹൈക്കോടതിയുടെ ഇടപെടൽ. സംഭവത്തിൽ ദേശീയ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ കമ്മിഷനും ദേശീയ ന്യൂനപക്ഷ കമ്മിഷനും മമത സർക്കാരിനോട് റിപ്പോർട്ട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ന്യൂനപക്ഷ കമ്മിഷൻ പ്രത്യേക സംഘത്തെ ബംഗാളിലേക്ക് അയയ്ക്കുമെന്നും അറിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കൂട്ടക്കൊലയുടെ ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ദേശീയ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ കമ്മിഷൻ ബംഗാൾ ചീഫ് സെകട്ടറിക്കും ഡിജിപിക്കും നോട്ടിസ് നൽകി.

ബിർഭൂമിലെ ബർഷാൽ ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ തൃണമൂൽ നേതാവും പഞ്ചായത്ത് വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റുമായ ബാദു ഷെയ്ഖിനെ ഒരു സംഘം ബോംബ് എറിഞ്ഞു കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനെത്തുടർന്നാണ് പ്രദേശത്ത് കലാപം പൊട്ടിപ്പുറപ്പെട്ടത്. ഇതിനു തിരിച്ചടിയായി ബാദു ഷെയ്ഖിൻ്റെ അനുയായികൾ എതിരാളികളുടെ വീടുകൾ അഗ്നിക്കിരയാക്കി. കുട്ടികളും സ്ത്രീകളും ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ളവരെ പൂട്ടിയിട്ട് ബോംബ് എറിഞ്ഞശേഷം തീയിടുകയായിരുന്നു. ഒരു വീട്ടിൽ മാത്രം ഏഴു പേർ വെന്തുമരിച്ചു. ഇതിനിടെ ബിർഭൂവിൽ പോലീസ് നടത്തിയ തിരച്ചിലിൽ വൻ ബോംബ് ശേഖരം കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

കൂട്ടക്കൊലയെ തുടർന്ന് തൃണമൂൽ കോൺഗ്രസ് രാംപുർഹത് ബ്ലോക്ക് പ്രസിഡൻ്റ് അനാറുൽ ശൈഖ് ഉൾപ്പെടെ 23 പേരെ പ്രത്യേക അന്വേഷണ സംഘം അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. ബംഗാളിലെ പ്രാദേശിക ഗുണ്ടാ സംഘങ്ങളുടെ കുടിപ്പകയാണ് കലാപത്തിന് കാരണനിന്നാണ് പ്രഥമിക നിഗമനം. കേസ് അട്ടിമറിക്കുന്നതിനാണ് മമതാ ബാനർജി പ്രത്യേക അന്വേഷണ സംഘത്തെ നിയോഗിച്ചതെന്ന് ബിജെപി എം പി ദിലീപ് ഘോഷ് ആരോപിച്ചു. തൃണമൂൽ കോൺഗ്രസ് നേതാവായ അനാറുൽ ശൈഖിനെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തത് മുൻകൂട്ടി തയാറാക്കിയ തിരക്കഥ അനുസരിച്ചാണെന്ന് കോൺഗ്രസിൻ്റെ ലോക്സഭാ കക്ഷി നേതാവ് അധിർ രഞ്ജൻ ചൗധരി ആരോപിച്ചു. അറസ്റ്റ് ജനങ്ങളെ കബളിപ്പിക്കാനാണെന്ന് സി പി എം സംസ്ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറി മുഹമ്മദ് സലീമും ആരോപിച്ചു.

The Calcutta High Court has ordered a CBI probe into the burning of eight people in West Bengal's Birbhum village. The High Court referred the case to the CBI on its own initiative, stating that the incident had shocked the conscience of the community. The High Court also directed that all the documents related to the case be handed over to the CBI by the present Special Investigation Team headed by the ADGP. The Trinamool Congress has said it will co-operate with the CBI in the probe but will strongly oppose any attempt by the BJP central leadership to sabotage the case.

Opposition parties have demanded a CBI probe into the killing of eight people by two Trinamool Congress - linked goons. The National Human Rights Commission and the National Commission for Minorities have asked the Mamata government to report the incident. The Minorities Commission has said it will send a special team to Bengal. The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary and the DGP of Bengal in connection with the massacre.

Riots erupted in the area after a mob bombed Trinamool leader and panchayat vice-president Badu Sheikh in Barshal village in Birbhum. In retaliation, Badu Sheikh's followers set fire to the houses of their opponents. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of protesters, including women and children. Seven people were burnt to death in one house alone. Meanwhile, a police search in Birbhum turned up a large cache of bombs.

The SIT had arrested 23 people, including Trinamool Congress Rampurhat block president Anarul Sheikh, in connection with the massacre. The initial conclusion is that the riots were caused by the drinking of local goons in Bengal. BJP MP Dilip Ghosh has alleged that Mamata Banerjee had appointed a special inquiry team to sabotage the case. Congress Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has alleged that the arrest of Trinamool Congress leader Anarul Shaikh was based on a pre-arranged script. CPM state secretary Mohammad Saleem also alleged that the arrest was to deceive the people.
