റഷ്യൻ ആക്രമണം തുടരുന്ന യുക്രൈൻ നഗരങ്ങളായ മരിയുപോളിലും വോൾനോവാഖയിലും റഷ്യ താൽകാലിക വെടിനിർത്തൽ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ അടക്കം സമ്മർദ്ദത്തെ തുടർന്ന് വിദേശ പൗരന്മാരെ ഒഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായി മാനുഷിക ഇടനാഴികൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിനായിട്ടാണ് ഈ താത്കാലിക വെടിനിർത്തൽ. 

മോസ്കോ സമയം ശനിയാഴ്ച രാവിലെ 9 മണി മുതൽ വെടിനിർത്തൽ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയും സിവിലിയൻമാരെ മരിയുപോൾ, വോൾനോവാഖ നഗരങ്ങൾ വിട്ടുപോകാൻ അനുവദിക്കുന്നതിനായി "മാനുഷിക ഇടനാഴികൾ" തുറക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതായി റഷ്യൻ പ്രതിരോധ മന്ത്രാലയം പ്രസ്താവനയിൽ പറഞ്ഞു. നേരത്തെ, വ്യാഴാഴ്ച മുതൽ ഉപരോധത്തിലായിരുന്ന മരിയുപോളിലെ മേയർ റഷ്യൻ സൈനികരുടെ ഉപരോധത്തിനും ആക്രമണത്തിനും ഇടയിൽ ഒരു മാനുഷിക ഇടനാഴിക്ക് ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ വടക്കുകിഴക്കൻ നഗരമായ സുമിയിലും തലസ്ഥാനമായ ബോറോഡിയങ്കയിലും ഏറ്റുമുട്ടൽ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Russia has announced a ceasefire in the Ukrainian cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha, where Russian aggression continues. The temporary ceasefire is aimed at creating humanitarian corridors to evacuate foreign nationals under pressure, including from India.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that a ceasefire would be declared at 9 a.m. Moscow time on Saturday and that "humanitarian corridors" would be opened to allow civilians to leave the cities of Volnovka when they die. Earlier, the mayor of Mariupol, who had been under siege since Thursday, had called for a humanitarian corridor between the siege and the attack by Russian troops. But clashes have been reported in the northeastern city of Sumi and in the capital, Borodianka.
