ഐ പി എൽ ഫൈനൽ ഇന്ന്. ചരിത്രമെഴുതാന്‍ സഞ്ജു

വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച റോയല്‍ ചലഞ്ചേഴ്സ് ബാംഗ്ലൂരിനെതിരേ രണ്ടാം ക്വാളിഫയറില്‍ ഏഴുവിക്കറ്റിന് ജയിച്ചാണ് രാജസ്ഥാന്‍ ഫൈനലിലെത്തിയത്. രാജസ്ഥാന്‍ റോയല്‍സിന്റെ നായകനായ മലയാളി താരം സഞ്ജു സാംസണ്‍ സവിശേഷമായ നേട്ടത്തിൻ്റെ അരികിലാണിപ്പോള്‍. ഐ പി എല്‍ ടീമിൻ്റെ നായകനായ ഒരേയൊരു കേരളതാരമാണ് സഞ്ജു. ഫൈനലില്‍ ഗുജറാത്തിനെ തോല്‍പ്പിച്ചാല്‍ ഐ പി എല്‍ കിരീടം നേടുന്ന മലയാളി ക്യാപ്റ്റന്‍ എന്ന അപൂര്‍വബഹുമതി സ്വന്തമാകും. അങ്ങനെയെങ്കില്‍ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയന്‍ ഇതിഹാസതാരം ഷെയ്ന്‍ വോണിൻ്റെ പിന്‍ഗാമിയായി മാറും സഞ്ജു. 2008 ഇൽ ആദ്യ ഐ പി എൽ കിരീടം നേടിയ ശേഷം രാജസ്ഥാൻ റോയൽസ് ഒരു തവണ പോലും കിരീടം നേടിയിട്ടില്ല. 

 2012-ല്‍ സഞ്ജു കൊല്‍ക്കത്ത നൈറ്റ് റൈഡേഴ്സ് ടീമിലെത്തിയെങ്കിലും ഒരു മത്സരംപോലും കളിക്കാനായില്ല. 2013-ല്‍ രാജസ്ഥാനിലൂടെ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു ഐ പി എൽ അരങ്ങേറ്റം. ആദ്യസീസണില്‍ 11 മത്സരത്തില്‍ 206 റണ്‍ നേടി മികച്ച യുവതാരത്തിനുള്ള പുരസ്‌കാരവും നേടി. രാജസ്ഥാന്‍ ടീം വിലക്കിലായിരുന്ന 2016-17 സീസണില്‍ ഡല്‍ഹി ഡെയര്‍ ഡെവിള്‍സിലേക്ക് പോയെങ്കിലും 2018-ല്‍ രാജസ്ഥാനിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചെത്തി. കഴിഞ്ഞ സീസണില്‍ നായകസ്ഥാനം ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. ഇതിനിടെ കേരള രഞ്ജി ടീമിൻ്റെ നായകനായി. ഇന്ത്യക്കുവേണ്ടിയും കളിച്ചു. ഒരുപാട് ചരിത്രങ്ങൾ ഒരുമിച്ച് എഴുതാൻ സഞ്ജുവിന് ഇനി ഒരു വിജയം മാത്രം മതി.

Malayalee player Sanju Samson, the captain of Rajasthan Royals, is on the verge of a special achievement. Sanju is the only Kerala captain to captain the IPL team. If they beat Gujarat in the final, they will get the rare honor of being the Malayalee captain to win the IPL title. In that case, Sanju will be the successor to the legendary Australian Shane Warne. The Rajasthan Royals have not won a single title since winning their first IPL title in 2008.

 In 2012, Sanju joined the Kolkata Knight Riders team but failed to play a single match. He made his IPL debut in 2013 through Rajasthan. In the first season, he scored 206 runs in 11 matches and won the Best Young Player award. The Rajasthan team went to Delhi Daredevils during the 2016-17 season when it was banned but returned to Rajasthan in 2018. Took over the captaincy last season. Meanwhile, he became the captain of the Kerala Ranji team. He also played for India. One more success is enough for Sanju to write a lot of histories together.
