ഉമ്മൻ ചാണ്ടി അന്തരിച്ചു. മുൻ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഉമ്മൻ ചാണ്ടി (79) അന്തരിച്ചു. അർബുദത്തിന് രോഗത്തിന്  ബെംഗളൂരുവിലെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സയിലിരിക്കെ ഇന്നു പുലർച്ചെ 4.25നായിരുന്നു ഉമ്മൻ ചാണ്ടിയുടെ അന്ത്യം. അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ മകൻ ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മനാണ് മരണ വാർത്ത സമൂഹമാധ്യമങ്ങളിലൂടെ  സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചത്. സംസ്കാരം വ്യാഴാഴ്ച 2.30 ന് പുതുപ്പള്ളി സെന്റ് ജോർജ് ഓർത്തഡോക്സ് വലിയ പള്ളി സെമിത്തേരിയിൽ. നടക്കും. ഉമ്മൻ ചാണ്ടിയുടെ ഭൗതിക ശരീരം ഇന്ന് പ്രത്യേക വിമാനത്തിൽ ബെംഗളൂരുവിൽ നിന്നും തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് എത്തിക്കും. കെപിസിസി ആസ്ഥാനത്തും ദർബാർ ഹാളിലും സെൻ്റ് ജോർജ് ഓർത്തഡോൿസ് സിറിയൻ പള്ളിയിലും തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ പുതുപ്പള്ളി ഹൗസിലും  പൊതുദർശനമുണ്ടാകും. തുടർന്ന് കോട്ടയത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന ഭൗതിക ശരീരം തിരുനക്കര മൈതാനത്തും പുതുപ്പള്ളിയിൽ സ്വവസതിയിലും പൊതുദർശനത്തിന് വെക്കും. മുൻ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയോടുള്ള ആദരസൂചകമായി സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് ഇന്ന് പൊതു അവധി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. മൂന്ന്  ദിവസത്തെ ഔദ്യോഗിക ദുഃഖാചരണവും പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.

Oommen Chandy passed away. Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy (79) passed away. Oommen Chandy died at 4.25 am today while undergoing treatment for cancer in a hospital in Bengaluru. His son Chandi Oommen confirmed the news of his death through social media. Funeral Thursday at 2.30 p.m. at St. George's Orthodox Great Church Cemetery, Puthupally. will take place The mortal remains of Oommen Chandy will be brought to Thiruvananthapuram from Bengaluru today by a special flight. Public darshan will be held at KPCC Headquarters, Durbar Hall, St. George Orthodox Syrian Church and Puthupally House in Thiruvananthapuram. The body will then be taken to Kottayam for public viewing at Tirunakkara Maidan and Puthupally at his residence. A public holiday has been declared in the state today as a mark of respect to the former chief minister. A three-day official mourning period was also announced.
