വാക്‌സിന്‍ എടുത്തില്ല, 27 ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ യുഎസ് വ്യോമസേന പുറത്താക്കി
കോവിഡ് വാക്‌സിന്‍ എടുക്കാതിരുന്ന 27 സൈനിക ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ യുഎസ് വ്യോമസേന പുറത്താക്കി. വാക്‌സിന്‍ എടുക്കാത്തതിന് ആദ്യമായിട്ടാണ് യുഎസ് ഗവൺമെൻ്റ് ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ സൈനികരെ സർവീസിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കുന്നത്. എല്ലാ സൈനികർക്കും ഓഗസ്റ്റില്‍ പെന്റഗണ്‍ വാക്‌സിന്‍ എടുക്കല്‍ നിര്‍ബന്ധമാക്കിയിരുന്നു. ഇതിൽ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം സൈനികരും കുറഞ്ഞത് ഒരു ഡോസെങ്കിലും വാക്‌സിന്‍ സ്വീകരിച്ചവരാനിന്നാണ് സൈനിക വൃത്തങ്ങൾ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നത്.
എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് വാക്‌സിന്‍ എടുക്കാത്തത് എന്നതിന് മതിയായ വിശദീകരണം നല്‍കാന്‍ പുറത്താക്കപ്പെട്ട സൈനികര്‍ക്ക് സേന അവസരം നല്‍കിയിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ വാക്സിൻ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നതിൽനിന്ന് ഒഴിവാക്കാൻ പര്യാപ്തമായ വിശദീകരണം ആരും നല്‍കിയില്ലെന്ന് യുഎസ് വ്യോമസേനാ വാക്താവ് ആന്‍ സ്‌റ്റെഫനെക് പറഞ്ഞു. 97 ശതമാനം വ്യോമസേനാംഗങ്ങളും ഇതിനോടകം കോവിഡിനെതിരായ വാക്‌സിന്‍ സ്വീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. യുഎസ് വ്യോമസേനയില്‍ 326,000 സജീവ അംഗങ്ങളാണ് ഉള്ളത്. ഇതിനിടെ വിവിധ യുഎസ് സേനകളിലായി 79 ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ കോവിഡ് ബാധിച്ച് മരിച്ചതായാണ് ഔദ്യോഗിക റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്.
The U.S. Air Force has expelled 27 military officers who did not receive the Covid vaccine. This is the first time the U.S. government has expelled soldiers from the service for failing to vaccinate. The Pentagon made it mandatory for all soldiers to be vaccinated in August. According to military sources, most of these soldiers have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
The army had given the expelled soldiers a chance to give an adequate explanation as to why they had not been vaccinated. But U.S. Air Force spokeswoman Ann Stefenek said no one had given a sufficient explanation to exclude her from receiving the vaccine. Ninety-seven percent of Air Force personnel have already been vaccinated against Covid. The U.S. Air Force has 326,000 active members. Meanwhile, an official report states that 79 officers in various U.S. forces have died of Covid infection.
