കാലിത്തീറ്റ കുംഭകോണം - ലാലു അഞ്ചാമത്തെ കേസിലും കുറ്റക്കാരന്‍. ശിക്ഷ 18ന്

കാലിത്തീറ്റ കുംഭകോണവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട അഞ്ചാമത്തെ കേസിലും ആര്‍ ജെ ഡി നേതാവും ബീഹാർ മുൻ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുമായ ലാലു പ്രസാദ് യാദവ് കുറ്റക്കാരനെന്ന് കോടതി. 139.35 കോടിയുടെ ദൊറാന്‍ഡ ട്രഷറി കേസിലാണിപ്പോള്‍ റാഞ്ചിയിലെ പ്രത്യേക സിബിഐ കോടതി ലാലു കുറ്റക്കാനാണെന്ന് വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഫെബ്രുവരി18ന് കോടതി ശിക്ഷ വിധിക്കും. എന്നാൽ തെളിവുകളുടെ അഭാവത്തില്‍ ആറ് സ്ത്രീകൾ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ കേസില്‍ പ്രതികളായ 24 പേരെ കോടതി വെറുതെ വിട്ടു.

കാലിത്തീറ്റ കുംഭകോണവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് 1996 ല്‍ 53 കേസുകളാണ് സി ബി ഐ രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിരുന്നത്. ഇതില്‍ അഞ്ച് കേസുകളിലാണ് ലാലു പ്രസാദ് യാദവ് പ്രതി ചേര്‍ക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്. ദൊറാന്‍ഡ ട്രഷറിയില്‍ നിന്ന് അനധികൃതമായി പണം പിന്‍വലിച്ച കേസില്‍ 170 പേരെയാണ് പ്രതി ചേർത്തിരുന്നത്. കാലിത്തീറ്റ കുംഭകോണത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും അധികം പണം പിന്‍വലിച്ചതും ദൊറാന്‍ഡ ട്രഷറിയില്‍ നിന്നായിരുന്നു. വിധി പ്രസ്താവ സമയത്ത് ലാലു റാഞ്ചിയിലെ പ്രത്യേക സി ബി ഐ കോടതിയില്‍ ഹാജരായിരുന്നു. 

കാലിത്തീറ്റ കുംഭകോണവും ആയി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ആദ്യ നാലു കേസുകളില്‍ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട ലാലുവിനു മൂന്നര വര്‍ഷത്തിലേറെ ജയില്‍വാസം അനുഭവിച്ച ശേഷം ജാമ്യം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. ആദ്യ നാല് കേസുകളിൽ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട ലാലു പ്രസാദ് യാദവ് വിചാരണ കോടതി വിധിക്കെതിരെ നല്‍കിയ അപ്പീല്‍ നിലവില്‍ ജാര്‍ഖണ്ഡ് ഹൈക്കോടതിയുടെ പരിഗണനയിലാണ്.

ലാലു പ്രസാദ് യാദവ് ബിഹാര്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായിരിക്കെയാണ് മൃഗക്ഷേമ വകുപ്പില്‍ കോടിക്കണക്കിന് രൂപയുടെ കാലിത്തീറ്റ കുംഭകോണം നടന്നത്. കാലിത്തീറ്റ, മരുന്നുകള്‍, ഉപകരണങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവ വാങ്ങിയെന്ന് വ്യാജ കണക്കുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കി സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ട്രഷറികളില്‍ നിന്നായി 940 കോടിയിലേറെ രൂപ പിന്‍വലിച്ചതായിട്ടാണ് സിബിഐ അന്വേഷണത്തില്‍ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.

RJD leader and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has been convicted in a fifth case related to a fodder scam. A special CBI court in Ranchi has convicted Lalu in a Rs 139.35 crore Doranda treasury case. The court will pass sentence on February 18. But due to lack of evidence, the court acquitted 24 accused in the case, including six women.

In 1996, the CBI registered 53 cases in connection with the fodder scam. Lalu Prasad Yadav was the accused in five of these cases. A total of 170 people have been charged in a case of money laundering from the Doranda treasury. The largest withdrawal in the fodder scam was from the Doranda Treasury. Lalu was present in the special CBI court in Ranchi when the verdict was pronounced.

Lalu, who was convicted in the first four cases related to the fodder scam, was released on bail after serving more than three-and-a-half years in jail. Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was convicted in the first four cases, has filed an appeal against the trial court's verdict in the Jharkhand High Court. When Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Chief Minister of Bihar, a multi-crore fodder scam took place in the Animal Welfare Department. The CBI probe has found that more than Rs 940 crore was withdrawn from the state treasuries on the pretext of purchasing fodder, medicines and equipment.
