രാജ്യ സുരക്ഷ - കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ 54 ചൈനീസ് ആപ്പുകള്‍കൂടി നിരോധിച്ചു

രാജ്യ സുരക്ഷയ്ക്ക് ഭീഷണിയെന്ന് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി 54 ചൈനീസ് ആപ്പുകള്‍ കൂടി കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ നിരോധിച്ചു. ഈ മൊബൈൽ ആപ്പ്ളിക്കേഷനുകൾ ഉപഭോക്താക്കളുടെ വ്യക്തിഗത വിവരങ്ങൾ ചൈനയ്ക്ക് ചോർത്തി നൽകുന്നു എന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തിയതിനെ തുടർന്നാണ് നിരോധനം. കേന്ദ്ര ഐടി മന്ത്രാലയത്തില്‍ നിന്നാണ് ഇതുസംബന്ധിച്ച വിവരങ്ങള്‍ പുറത്തുവരുന്നത്. സ്വീറ്റ് സെല്‍ഫി എച്ച്ഡി, ബ്യൂട്ടി ക്യാമറ-സെല്‍ഫി ക്യാമറ, ഈക്വലൈസര്‍ ആന്‍ഡ് ബാസ് ബൂസ്റ്റര്‍, വിവ വീഡിയോ എഡിറ്റര്‍, ടെന്‍സന്റ് റിവര്‍, ഓണ്‍മ്യോജി അരീന, ആപ്പ്‌ലോക്ക്, ഡ്യുവല്‍ സ്‌പേസ് ലൈറ്റ് തുടങ്ങിയ ആപ്പുകള്‍ക്കാണ് വിലക്കേര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. നിരോധിക്കപ്പെട്ട ആപ്പുകളില്‍ പലതും ഉപഭോക്താക്കളുടെ വ്യക്തിഗത വിവരങ്ങള്‍ ചൈനീസ് ഡാറ്റ സെൻ്ററുകളിലേക്ക് കൈമാറുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും ഐടി മന്ത്രാലയം ആരോപിക്കുന്നു.

കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഷം ജൂണില്‍ ജനപ്രിയ ആപ്പുകളായിരുന്ന ടിക് ടോക്, വി ചാറ്റ്, യുസി ബ്രൗസര്‍ തുടങ്ങി 59 ചൈനീസ് ആപ്പുകളെ കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍  ഇതേ കാരണത്താൽ നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു. 2020 മെയില്‍ ചൈനയുമായുണ്ടായ അതിര്‍ത്തി സംഘര്‍ഷത്തെ തുടർന്ന് 300 ഓളം ചൈനീസ് മൊബൈൽ ആപ്പ്ളിക്കേഷനുകൾ ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ ബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇപ്പോള്‍ നിരോധിക്കപ്പെട്ട 54 ആപ്പുകളില്‍ ചിലത് മുൻപ് നിരോധിക്കപ്പെട്ട ശേഷം റീബ്രാന്‍ഡ് ചെയ്യുകയോ പുതിയ പേരുകളില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തവയുമുണ്ടെന്നുംകേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ പറയുന്നു.

The government has banned 54 more Chinese apps, citing threats to national security. The ban comes after it was discovered that these mobile applications were leaking users' personal information to China. The information is coming from the Union Ministry of IT. Apps such as Sweet Selfie HD, Beauty Camera-Selfie Camera, Equalizer and Bass Booster, Viva Video Editor, Tencent River, Onmoji Arena, App lock, and Dual Space Lite are banned. The IT ministry also alleges that many of the banned apps are transferring customers' personal information to Chinese data centers.

In June last year, the central government banned 59 Chinese apps, including the popular Tick Tock, VChat and UC Browser, for the same reason. More than 300 Chinese mobile applications have been blocked in India since the May 2020 border conflict with China. The government says some of the 54 apps currently banned have been rebranded or re-launched after being banned.
