ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയൻ സ്പിൻ ഇതിഹാസം ഷെയ്ൻ വോൺ അന്തരിച്ചു.  ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയൻ ക്രിക്കറ്റിലെ എക്കാലത്തെയും മികച്ച ലെഗ് സ്പിന്നറുമായ ഷെയ്ൻ വോൺ (52) ഹൃദയാഘാതം മൂലം അന്തരിച്ചു. ശനിയാഴ്ച പുലർച്ചെ (AEDT) വോണിൻ്റെ മാനേജ്‌മെൻ്റ് പുറത്ത് വിട്ട പത്രക്കുറുപ്പിൽ, അദ്ദേഹം തായ്‌ലൻഡിലെ കോ സാമുയിയിലെ വില്ലയിൽ  ഹൃദയാഘാതം മൂലം അന്തരിച്ചുവെന്ന് സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. 

"രാവിലെ ഷെയ്ൻ തന്റെ വില്ലയിൽ പ്രതികരിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തി, മെഡിക്കൽ സംഘം പരമാവധി ശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടും രക്ഷിക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല" എന്ന് ഷെയിൻ വോണിൻ്റെ മാനേജ്‌മൻ്റ് പ്രസ്താവനയിൽ പറയുന്നു. "ഈ സമയത്ത് അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ കുടുംബം സ്വകാര്യത ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു, കൂടുതൽ വിശദാംശങ്ങൾ യഥാസമയം പുറത്ത് വിടും." കഴിഞ്ഞ 24 മണിക്കൂറിനുള്ളിൽ ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയൻ ക്രിക്കറ്റിന് സംഭവിച്ച രണ്ടാമത്തെ നഷ്ടമാണ് വോണിൻ്റെ മരണം, മഹാനായ റോഡ് മാർഷ് ഹൃദയാഘാതത്തെ തുടർന്ന് വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച മരിച്ചതിന് പിന്നാലെയാണ് ഷെയിനിൻ്റെ മരണം. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ആദരാഞ്ജലികൾ അർപ്പിച്ച് ഷെയ്ൻ വോൺ ട്വിറ്ററിൽ കുറിപ്പിട്ട് 12 മണിക്കൂർ തികയുന്നതിന് മുൻപാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ ഈ ആകസ്മിക മരണം. ലോകമെമ്പാടുമുള്ള ദശലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് ആളുകൾ സ്നേഹപൂർവ്വം 'വാർണി' എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നു, വോണിനെ പലരും ഗെയിം കളിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതിൽ വച്ച് ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ബൗളറായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.

Australian spin legend Shane Vaughan has died. Australian cricket's all-time great leg-spinner Shane Vaughan, 52, has died of a heart attack. In a press release issued by Vaughan's management on Saturday morning (AEDT), it was confirmed that he had died of a heart attack at his villa in Koh Samui, Thailand.

"This morning Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and the medical team tried their best but could not save him," Shane Warne's management said in a statement. "His family wants privacy at this time and more details will be released in due course." Vaughn's death is the second loss to Australian cricket in the last 24 hours, after Shane's death on Friday following a heart attack by the great Rod Marsh. Shane Vaughan's death comes less than 12 hours after he took to Twitter to pay tribute to him. Millions of people around the world affectionately refer to him as 'Warnie' and Vaughan is considered by many to be the best bowler the game has ever played.

He took 708 Test wickets in his 15 - year international cricket career, the second highest by an Australian cricketer in the world. Muttiah Muralitharan is the leading wicket-taker.
