എലത്തൂർ ട്രെയിൻ തീവെപ്പ് കേസ് പ്രതി രത്നഗിരിയിൽ അറസ്റ്റിലായി.  മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ രത്നഗിരിയില്നിന്നാണ് മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര തീവ്രവാദ വിരുദ്ധ സ്‌കോഡ് പ്രതിയായ ഷാരൂഖ് സൈഫിയെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തത്. ഏപ്രിൽ 2 ന് ആലപ്പുഴ - കണ്ണൂർ എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് എക്സ്പ്രസ് ട്രെയിനിൻ്റെ D1 കോച്ചിനാണ് പ്രതി തീ ഇട്ടത്. തുടർന്ന് ഇതേ ട്രെയിനിൽ കണ്ണൂർ വരെ യാത്ര ചെയ്ത പ്രതി കണ്ണൂരിൽനിന്ന് എറണാകുളം അജ്‌മീർ മരുസാഗർ എക്സ്പ്രെസ്സിൽ കയറി അജ്‌മീറിലേക്ക് പുറപ്പെട്ടു. എന്നാൽ മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ രത്നഗിരിക്ക് സമീപം കലമ്പനിയിൽ വെച്ച് ട്രെയിനിൽ നിന്ന് ചാടി പരിക്കേറ്റ ഷാരൂഖ് സൈഫിയെ നാട്ടുകാർ അവിടെയുള്ള ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിക്കുകയും തുടർന്ന് രത്നഗിരിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റുകയും ചെയ്തു. രത്നഗിരിയിയിലെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഒളിച്ചുകടന്ന് രക്ഷപെടാനായി രത്നഗിരി റയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ എത്തിയ ഷാരൂഖ് സൈഫിയെ മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര ഭീകര വിരുദ്ധ സ്‌ക്വാഡ് അവിടെനിന്ന് ഏപ്രിൽ 5ന് പുലർച്ചെ 1:30ന് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുകയും നടപടി ക്രമങ്ങൾ പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ ശേഷം കേരള പൊലീസിന് കൈമാറുകയും ചെയ്തു. 

Elathur train arson case accused arrested in Ratnagiri. Shahrukh Saifi, who is accused of Maharashtra ATS, was arrested from Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. On April 2, the accused set fire to the D1 coach of the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express train. Then the accused traveled to Kannur by the same train and boarded the Ernakulam Ajmer Marusagar Express from Kannur and left for Ajmer. But Shahrukh Saifi, who was injured after jumping from a train at Kalambani near Ratnagiri in Maharashtra, was admitted to the hospital there by locals and then shifted to Ratnagiri. Shahrukh Saifi, who had reached Ratnagiri railway station to escape from a hospital in Ratnagiri, was arrested from there by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad at 1:30 am on April 5 and handed over to the Kerala Police after completion of formalities.
