ബനാറസ് ഹിന്ദു യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി സീറ്റ് നിഷേധിച്ച ദളിത് വിദ്യർത്ഥിനിയുടെ ഫീസടച്ച് അലഹാബാദ് ഹൈക്കോടതി ജഡ്ജി

അനുവദിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ഫീസടയ്ക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തതിനാൽ ഐഐടി വാരാണസിയിൽ (BHU) പ്രവേശനം നിഷേധിക്കപ്പെട്ട വിദ്യാർഥിനിക്കു ആശ്വാസമായി  അലഹാബാദ് ഹൈക്കോടതി ജഡ്ജി. വിദ്യാർഥിനിക്കു പ്രവേശനം നൽകാൻ വിധിച്ചതിനൊപ്പം  കേസിൽ വിധി പറഞ്ഞ ജസ്റ്റിസ് ദിനേശ് കുമാർ സിങ് അടയ്ക്കേണ്ട തുകയായ 15,000 രൂപനൽകാമെന്നും അറിയിച്ചു.  

പഠനത്തിൽ സമർഥയായ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനി ജെഇഇ മെയിൻ (JEE - MAIN ) പരീക്ഷയിൽ 92.77 ശതമാനം മാർക്ക് നേടിയാണ് ഐഐടി വാരാണസിയിൽ പ്രവേശനം നേടിയത്. ജെഇഇ മെയിൻ എസ്‌സി വിഭാഗത്തിൽ 2062–ാം റാങ്കും  ജെഇഇ അഡ്വാൻസ്ഡിൽ എസ്‌സി വിഭാഗത്തിൽ 1469–ാം റാങ്കും വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനി നേടിയിരുന്നു. ഐഐടി (ബിഎച്ച്‌യു) വാരാണാസിയിൽ മാത്തമാറ്റിക്‌സ് ആൻഡ് കമ്പ്യൂട്ടിങിന് [ബാച്ചിലർ ആൻഡ് മാസ്റ്റർ ഓഫ് ടെക്‌നോളജി (ഡ്യൂയൽ ഡിഗ്രി)] വിദ്യാർഥിനിക്ക് സീറ്റ് ലഭിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ സാമ്പത്തിക ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകൾ കാരണം വിദ്യാർഥിനിക്ക് അവസാന തീയതിക്ക് മുന്‍പ് പ്രവേശന ഫീസായ 15,000 രൂപ അടയ്ക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചില്ല. ഇതിനെ തുടർന്ന് ഐഐടി വാരാണസി അഡ്മിഷൻ നിഷേധിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

ആഴ്ചയിൽ രണ്ട് ദിവസം ഡയാലിസിസിനു വിധേയമാകേണ്ട വൃക്കരോഗിയാണ് വിദ്യാർഥിനിയുടെ  അച്ഛൻ. അദ്ദേഹം ജോലിക്കു പോകുന്നില്ല. കോവിഡ് പ്രതിസന്ധി കൂടെയായപ്പോൾ പറഞ്ഞ സമയത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ഫീസടയ്ക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചില്ല. ആയതിനാൽ  താനും അച്ഛനും പലതവണ ജോയിന്റ് സീറ്റ് അലോക്കേഷൻ അതോറിറ്റിക്കു ഫീസടയ്ക്കാനുള്ള സമയം നീട്ടി നൽകാൻ കത്തയച്ചെങ്കിലും മറുപടിയൊന്നും ലഭിച്ചില്ലെന്നും ഹർജിയിൽ പറയുന്നു. ഹർജിക്കാരിയായ വിദ്യാർഥിനി കോടതിക്കു മുന്നിൽ എത്തിയത്  ഇക്കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിയാണ്. ഈ കാരണങ്ങൾ പരിഗണിച്ച കോടതി, ഹർജിയിൽ കഴമ്പുണ്ടെന്ന് കണ്ടാണ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിക്ക് സീറ്റ് നൽകാൻ വിധി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചത്.

Allahabad High Court judge has granted relief to a student who was denied admission to IIT Varanasi (BHU) for failing to pay fees within the stipulated time. Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh, who ruled in the case and intimate that he is ready to pay the fee amount Rs 15,000

The student, who excelled in her studies, scored 92.77 per cent marks in the JEE - MAIN examination and was admitted to IIT Varanasi. The student was ranked 2062nd in JEE Main SC category and 1469th in JEE Advanced SC category. Student gets a seat in Mathematics and Computing [Bachelor and Master of Technology (Dual Degree)] in IIT (BHU) Varanasi. However, due to financial difficulties, the student could not pay the admission fee of Rs 15,000 before the last date. Following this, IIT Varanasi denied admission.

The student's father is a kidney patient who has to undergo dialysis two days a week. He is not going to work. Due to Covid19 crisis, he was unable to pay the fees within the stated time when the crisis came along. Therefore, he and his father had repeatedly written to the Joint Seat Allocation Authority seeking an extension of time to pay the fees, but received no reply. The petitioner, a student, appeared before the court citing these matters. Considering these reasons, the court ruled that the student should be given a seat as the petition was valid.
