മുല്ലപ്പെരിയാർ - പാർലമെൻ്റിൽ അണപൊട്ടി കേരളത്തിൻ്റെ രോഷം

മുല്ലപ്പെരിയാർ ഡാം അപകടത്തിൽ ആണെന്നും ഉടൻ ഡീകമ്മിഷൻ ചെയ്യണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് പാർലമെൻ്റിൻ്റെ ഇരുസഭകളിലും കേരള എം പിമാർ പ്രധിഷേധം നടത്തി. ഈ പ്രധിഷേധം കേരള – തമിഴ്‌നാട് എംപിമാരുടെ വാക്പോരിൽ കലാശിച്ചു. പ്ലക്കാർഡുകളുമായി യുഡിഎഫ് എംപിമാർ സഭാകവാടത്തിൽ ധർണ നടത്തി. ശൂന്യവേളയിൽ വിഷയം ഉന്നയിച്ച എൻ കെ പ്രേമചന്ദ്രൻ്റെ പ്രസംഗം തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്താൻ തമിഴ്നാട് എംപിമാർ ശ്രമിച്ചു. രാജ്യസഭയിൽ ഡാം സുരക്ഷാ ബിൽ ചർച്ചാവേളയിലും കേരള–തമിഴ്‌നാട് അംഗങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ ഇടഞ്ഞു.

രാത്രി കാലങ്ങളിലടക്കം മുന്നറിയിപ്പില്ലാതെ ഡാം തുറക്കരുതെന്ന് തമിഴ്‌നാടിനോട് നിർദേശിക്കണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് കേരള കോൺഗ്രസ് എംപിമാരായ ജോസ് കെ.മാണിയും തോമസ് ചാഴികാടനും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്രമോദിക്കു കത്തു നൽകി. പുതിയ അണക്കെട്ട് നിർമിക്കാൻ ഇടപെടണമെന്നും ഇവർ കത്തിൽ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.  കേരളത്തിനു സുരക്ഷ, തമിഴ്‌നാടിന് ജലം, മുല്ലപ്പെരിയാർ ഡാം ഡീകമ്മിഷൻ ചെയ്യുക തുടങ്ങിയ മുദ്രാവാക്യങ്ങളെഴുതിയ പ്ലക്കാർഡുകളുയർത്തിയായിരുന്നു എംപിമാരുടെ  പ്രധിഷേധം . എൻ കെ പ്രേമചന്ദ്രൻ്റെ അടിയന്തര പ്രമേയം അനുവദിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിലും ശൂന്യവേളയിൽ സംസാരിക്കാൻ അവസരം ലഭിച്ചപ്പോളും തമിഴ്‌നാട്  എംപിമാർ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചു. ടി ആർ ബാലുവിൻ്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ പ്രസംഗം തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്താൻ ശ്രമിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഡീൻ കുര്യാക്കോസ്, ടി എൻ പ്രതാപൻ തുടങ്ങിയവരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ കേരള എംപിമാരും രംഗത്തെത്തി. 

Kerala MPs have protested in both houses of parliament demanding that the Mullaperiyar Dam be decommissioned as soon as possible. The protest culminated in a war of words between Kerala and Tamil Nadu MPs. UDF MPs staged a dharna at the entrance of the house with placards. Tamil Nadu MPs tried to block NK Premachandran's speech which raised the issue in his spare time. Kerala-Tamil Nadu members clashed during the Rajya Sabha debate on the Dam Safety Bill.

Kerala Congress MPs Jose K. Mani and Thomas Chazhikadan have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to direct Tamil Nadu not to open the dam without warning during the night. The letter also asked them to intervene in the construction of the new dam. The MPs were holding placards with slogans like security for Kerala, water for Tamil Nadu and decommissioning of Mullaperiyar Dam. Though NK Premachandran's urgent resolution was not allowed, Tamil Nadu MPs protested even when given the opportunity to speak in their spare time. When MPs led by TR Balu tried to interrupt the speech, Kerala MPs led by Dean Kuriakose and TN Prathapan also came on the scene.
