സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങള്‍ ഇന്ധന നികുതി കുറയ്ക്കണം മോദി

• വാറ്റ് കുറയ്ക്കാത്തതിന് ബിജെപി ഇതര സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരുകളെ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി മോദി

കേന്ദ്രസർക്കാർ എക്‌സൈസ് തീരുവ വെട്ടിക്കുറച്ചതിൻ്റെ ഗുണഫലങ്ങൾ പ്രതിപക്ഷം ഭരിക്കുന്ന ചില സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് കൈമാറുന്നില്ലെന്നും ഇവിടങ്ങളിൽ  ഇന്ധനവില വളരെ കൂടുതലാണെന്നും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി ബുധനാഴ്ച പറഞ്ഞു. “ഈ അനീതി തടയാൻ ഈ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ഉടനടി പരിഹാര നടപടികൾ കൊണ്ടുവരണം,” ഉയർന്നുവരുന്ന COVID-19 സാഹചര്യം ചർച്ച ചെയ്യുന്നതിനായി  മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിമാരുമായുള്ള ആശയവിനിമയത്തിനിടെയാണ് മോദിആരോപണം ഉന്നയിച്ചത്. 

നികുതി കുറയ്ക്കാത്ത സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ അയൽ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾക്കും ദോഷം ചെയ്യും. കർണാടക, ഗുജറാത്ത് തുടങ്ങിയ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ വരുമാനനഷ്ടമുണ്ടായിട്ടും ജനങ്ങളുടെ ക്ഷേമത്തിനായി നികുതികുറച്ചു, അതേസമയം അവരുടെ അയൽ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ നികുതി കുറയ്ക്കാതെ കൂടുതൽ വരുമാനം നേടുന്നുവെന്നും മോദി പറഞ്ഞു. കഴിഞ്ഞ നവംബറിൽ വാറ്റ് കുറയ്ക്കാൻ അഭ്യർത്ഥിച്ചെങ്കിലും മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര, പശ്ചിമ ബംഗാൾ, തെലങ്കാന, ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശ്, തമിഴ്‌നാട്, കേരളം, ജാർഖണ്ഡ് തുടങ്ങിയ ബിജെപി ഇതര സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ഭരിക്കുന്ന പല സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളും ഈ നിർദ്ദേശംപാലിച്ചില്ലെന്നും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. 

നികുതി കുറച്ചില്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ കര്‍ണാടകയ്ക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞ ആറ് മാസത്തിനുള്ളിൽ 5000 കോടിയുടെ അധിക വരുമാനം നേടാമായിരുന്നു. നികുതി കുറച്ചില്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഗുജറാത്തിനും 3500 മുതല്‍ 4000 കോടി വരെ അധികവരുമാനം നേടുമായിരുന്നു. എന്നിരുന്നിട്ടും അവർ നികുതി കുറച്ചു എന്ന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that some opposition-ruled states were not passing on the benefits of the central government's reduction in excise duty and that fuel prices were too high in these areas. "These states must take immediate remedial action to prevent this injustice," Modi alleged during a meeting with chief ministers to discuss the emerging COVID-19 situation.

States that do not reduce taxes will hurt neighboring states as well. Modi said states like Karnataka and Gujarat had reduced taxes for the welfare of the people despite the loss of revenue, while their neighboring states were earning more without tax cuts. The Prime Minister said that despite the request to reduce VAT last November, many non-BJP states like Maharashtra, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Jharkhand have not complied with the proposal.

Had it not been for tax cuts, Karnataka would have earned an additional Rs 5,000 crore in the last six months. Had it not been for the tax cuts, Gujarat would have earned an additional Rs 3,500 crore to Rs 4,000 crore. However, the Prime Minister pointed out that they had reduced taxes.
