പത്താം ക്ലാസില്‍നിന്ന് ഉര്‍ദു കവിതകള്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കി. വിവാദ കുരുക്കിൽ സി ബി എസ് ഇ

അടുത്ത അധ്യയന വര്‍ഷത്തേക്കുള്ള സി ബി എസ് ഇ പാഠ്യ പദ്ധതിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട വിവാദങ്ങള്‍ തുടരുന്നു. പത്താം ക്ലാസ് സാമൂഹികശാസ്ത്രം പുസ്തകത്തില്‍നിന്ന് ഉര്‍ദു കവി ഫായിസ് അഹമ്മദ് ഫൈസിയുടെ രണ്ടു കവിതകള്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കിയതിനെച്ചൊല്ലിയാണ് പുതിയ വിവാദം.

സാമൂഹികശാസ്ത്രത്തിലെ "ജനാധിപത്യ രാഷ്ട്രീയം II" എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിലെ  'മതം, വര്‍ഗീയത, രാഷ്ട്രീയം' എന്ന പാഠഭാഗത്തില്‍ നിന്നാണ് കവിതകള്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കിയത്. ഫൈസിയുടെ ധാക്ക സന്ദര്‍ശനത്തെക്കുറിസിച്ചും, ലാഹോര്‍ ജയിലില്‍നിന്ന് എഴുതിയ കവിതകളുമാണ് സി ബി എസ് ഇ നീക്കം ചെയ്തത്.

“We remain strangers even after so many meetings, bloodstains remain even after so many rains”

“Not enough to shed tears, to suffer anguish, not enough to nurse love in secret…Today, walk in the public square fettered in chains.” എന്നീ  ഉര്‍ദുവില്‍ നിന്ന് ഇംഗ്ലിഷിലേക്ക് വിവര്‍ത്തനം ചെയ്ത കവിതകളാണ് നീക്കം ചെയ്തത്. ഇവ പത്തു വര്‍ഷത്തിലേറെയായി പാഠ്യ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമാണ്. ഇതിനു പുറമേ, രണ്ട് പോസ്റ്ററുകളും അജിത് നൈനാന്‍ വരച്ച കാര്‍ട്ടൂണും ഒഴിവാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. സന്നദ്ധ സംഘടനയായ അന്‍ഹാദ് (ആക്ട് നൗ ഫോര്‍ ഹാര്‍മണി ആന്‍ഡ് ഡെമോക്രസി) പുറത്തിറക്കിയ പോസ്റ്ററാണ് നീക്കിയത്. ദേശീയ പാഠ്യപദ്ധതി ചട്ടക്കൂട് പരിഷ്‌കരിച്ചശേഷം കൊല്‍ക്കത്ത സര്‍വകലാശാല ചരിത്രവിഭാഗം മുന്‍ അധ്യാപകന്‍ ഹരി വാസുദേവന്‍ അധ്യക്ഷനായ സമിതിയാണ് 2005ല്‍ പുസ്തകം വികസിപ്പിച്ചത്.

സി ബി എസ് ഇയുടെ പുതുക്കിയ പാഠ്യപദ്ധതിയില്‍നിന്ന് ഇസ്‌ലാമിക ചരിത്രവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കിയത് നേരത്തേ തന്നെ  വിവാദമായിരുന്നു. ഇതിനെതിരേ ഒരു വിഭാഗം അധ്യാപകരാണ് രംഗത്തെത്തിയത്. പതിനൊന്നാം ക്ലാസിലെ ഇസ്‌ലാമിക ചരിത്രം ഇതിവൃത്തമായ 'സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ ഇസ്‌ലാമിക് ലാന്‍ഡ്സ്' എന്ന പാഠഭാഗം മാറ്റി 'നോമാഡിക് എംപയേഴ്സ്' എന്ന ഭാഗം ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തി. പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ക്ലാസിലെ ചരിത്രപുസ്തകത്തില്‍ മുഗള്‍ ഭരണകാലത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള 'കിങ്സ് ആന്‍ഡ് ക്രോണിക്കിള്‍സ്' എന്ന പാഠത്തിന് പകരം 'പെസന്റ്സ്, സമീന്ദാര്‍സ് ആന്‍ഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്' എന്ന ഭാഗവും ചേര്‍ത്തു. ആരോപണങ്ങളോടും വിവാദങ്ങളോടും സി ബി എസ് ഇ ഇതുവരെ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി പ്രതികരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

Controversy continues over the CBSE syllabus for the next academic year. The latest controversy is over the omission of two poems by Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faizi from a 10th class book on sociology. The poems were omitted from the text 'Religion, Communalism and Politics' in the book "Democratic Politics II" in the social sciences. The CBSE has removed poems about Faizi's visit to Dhaka and poems written from the Lahore jail.

These have been part of the curriculum for more than ten years. In addition, two posters and a cartoon drawn by Ajith Nainan have been omitted. The poster was released by the NGO Anhad (Act Now for Harmony and Democracy). The book was developed in 2005 by a committee chaired by Hari Vasudevan, a former lecturer in the Department of History, University of Kolkata, after revising the National Curriculum Framework.

The exclusion of sections on Islamic history from the CBSE's revised syllabus has already caused controversy. A section of teachers came out against this. The text on "Islamic Islamic Lands" in the 11th grade has been changed to "Nomadic Empires". The textbook 'Kings and Chronicles' on the Mughal rule was added to the textbook of class XII instead of 'The Peasants, Zamindars and the State'. The CBSE has not yet officially responded to the allegations and controversy.
