ഓസ്കര്‍ വേദിയിലെ മോശം പെരുമാറ്റം, വില്‍ സ്മിത്ത് അക്കാദമിയില്‍നിന്ന് രാജിവെച്ചു

ഓസ്കര്‍ വേദിയിലെ മോശം പെരുമാറ്റത്തെ തുടർന്ന് അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് മോഷന്‍ പിക്ച്ചര്‍ ആന്‍റ് ആര്‍ട്ടില്‍ നിന്ന് നടന്‍ വില്‍ സ്മിത്ത് രാജിവെച്ചു. ഓസ്കര്‍ വേദിയില്‍ ഭാര്യയെ അപമാനിച്ചുവെന്ന് ആരോപിച്ച് അവതാരകനെ തല്ലിയ സംഭവത്തില്‍ അച്ചടക്ക നടപടി ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്യാന്‍ ഏപ്രിൽ 18ന് അക്കാദമി യോഗം ചേരാനിരിക്കേയാണ് രാജി.

"അക്കാദമി തന്നിൽ അര്‍പ്പിച്ച വിശ്വാസം കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല, ഓസ്കര്‍ വേദിയിലെ തന്‍റെ പെരുമാറ്റം ഞെട്ടിക്കുന്നതും വേദനിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും മാപ്പര്‍ഹിക്കാത്തതുമായിരുന്നു. ഏത് ശിക്ഷാവിധിയും സ്വീകരിക്കാന്‍ താൻ സന്നദ്ധനാണെന്നും" സ്മിത്ത് പത്രക്കുറിപ്പിൽ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

ഫിലിം അക്കാദമിയുടെ പ്രസിഡന്റ് ഡേവിഡ് റൂബിൻ വിൽ സ്മിത്തിന്റെ രാജി സ്വീകരിച്ചതായി അറിയിച്ചു. അക്കാദമിയുടെ പെരുമാറ്റ മാനദണ്ഡങ്ങൾ ലംഘിച്ചതിന് സ്മിത്തിനെതിരായ അച്ചടക്ക നടപടികളുമായി മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുമെന്നും ഡേവിഡ് വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

അവതാരകനായ ക്രിസ് റോക്കിനെ വേദിയിൽ കയറി തല്ലിയ വിൽ സ്മിത്തിന്റെ പെരുമാറ്റം 94ാമത് ഓസ്കർ വേദിയെ ഞെട്ടിച്ചിരുന്നു. വര്ഷങ്ങളായി അലോപേഷ്യ രോഗിയായ വില്‍ സ്മിത്തിൻ്റെ ഭാര്യ ജെയ്ഡ സ്മിത്തിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ക്രിസ് നടത്തിയ പരാമര്‍ശമാണ് നടനെ ചൊടിപ്പിച്ചത്. തലമുടി കൊഴിഞ്ഞു പോവുന്ന അവസ്ഥയാണിത്. നടിയും അവതാരകയും സാമൂഹ്യപ്രവര്‍ത്തകയുമാണ് ജെയ്ഡ സ്മിത്ത്. മികച്ച ഡോക്യുമെന്ററിയ്ക്കുള്ള പുരസ്‌കാരം പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് ക്രിസ് റോക്ക് അതേക്കുറിച്ച് തമാശ പറഞ്ഞു.

1997 ലെ ജി ഐ ജെയിന്‍ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ഡെമി മൂര്‍ തലമൊട്ടയടിച്ചാണ് അഭിനയിച്ചത്. ജി ഐ ജെയിന്‍ 2 ല്‍ ജെയ്ഡയെ കാണാമെന്ന് ക്രിസ് റോക്ക് പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാല്‍ റോക്കിൻ്റെ തമാശ വില്‍ സ്മിത്തിന് രസിച്ചില്ല. അദ്ദേഹം വേദിയിലേക്ക് കയറിവന്ന് റോക്കിന്റെ മുഖത്ത് ശക്തിയായി അടിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് സീറ്റിൽ എത്തിയശേഷം 'എൻ്റെ ഭാര്യയുടെ പേര് നീ പറഞ്ഞുപോകരുതെ'ന്ന് ശക്തമായി താക്കീത് ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്തു. എന്നാൽ  സംഭവത്തില്‍ വില്‍ സ്മിത്ത് അക്കാദമിയോടും ക്രിസ് റോക്കിനോടും പിന്നീട് മാപ്പ് പറഞ്ഞു.

അനിഷ്ട സംഭവങ്ങളില്‍ അവതാകരന്‍ ക്രിസ് റോക്കിനോട് അക്കാദമിയും മാപ്പ് അറിയിച്ചു. സംഭവത്തിന് ശേഷം സ്മിത്തിനോട് ഓസ്കാർ വേദിയിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്ത് പോകാൻ അക്കാദമി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടെങ്കിലും സ്മിത്ത് അത് കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല. വില്‍ സ്മിത്തിനെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യാന്‍ പോലീസ് തയ്യാറാണെന്നും ഓസക്ര്‍ ചടങ്ങിന്റെ പ്രൊഡ്യൂസർ വില്‍ പാക്കര്‍ അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. ക്രിസിന് പരാതിയുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ മാത്രമേ അറസ്റ്റ് സാധ്യമാകൂ. എന്നാല്‍ അദ്ദേഹം അതിന് തയ്യാറല്ലെന്നും റിപ്പോർട്ടുകൾ പുറത്ത് വന്നിരുന്നു.
