ലീ എർത്ത് - ഒരു സാമൂഹിക സംരംഭം | Lea Earth - A Social Entrepreneurship

നമ്മൾ 700 കോടി ജനങ്ങളുണ്ട് നമുക്ക് നിലവിൽ വാസ യോഗ്യമായ ഒരേഒരു സ്ഥലമേയുള്ളൂ അത് ഭൂമിയാണ്; ഈ ഭൂമി മാത്രമാണ്. ഒരേ ഒരു ഭൂമി. #OnlyOneEarth 

ആ ഭൂമി ഇന്ന് നേരിടുന്ന ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വെല്ലുവിളിയാണ് പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് മാലിന്യം. ഇന്ന് പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് മാലിന്യം എന്നത് നിസ്സാരമായി തോന്നുന്ന, ഏറ്റവും വിശാലമായ ഒരു പദ പ്രയോഗം മാത്രമാണ്. എന്നാൽ മനുഷ്യ രാശി നേരിടുന്ന, അല്ല ഈ പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിലെ എല്ലാ ജീവജാലങ്ങളും ഒരുപോലെ നേരിടുന്ന ഏറ്റവും ഭീതി ജനകവും ഭയാനകവുമായ ഒരു അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര പ്രശ്നമാണ് പുനരുപയോഗിക്കാനോ നിർമാർജനം ചെയ്യാനോ കഴിയാത്ത പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് മാലിന്യം. ഓരോ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഉത്പന്നവും 500ഇൽ പരം വർഷങ്ങൾ ദ്രവിക്കാതെ ഭൂമിയിൽ ഉണ്ടാവും. നിലവിൽ ദിനം പ്രതി നമ്മൾ ഉത്പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഉത്പന്നങ്ങൾ നമ്മുടെ ഈ ഭൂമിയെ വലിയ ഒരു പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് കൂമ്പാരമാക്കി മാറ്റികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഈ പ്രക്രിയ സാവധാനത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ഒന്നല്ല, വളരെ വേഗത്തിൽ; അതായത് നമുക്ക് ഒന്നും ചിന്തിക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്ത അത്ര വേഗത്തിൽ നമ്മുടെ ഭൂമി ഒരു പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് മാലിന്യ കൂമ്പാരമായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. 

യുണൈറ്റഡ് നേഷൻസ് എൻവയോൺമെന്റ് പ്രോഗ്രാമിൻ്റെ (UNEP) ഈ വർഷത്തെ  ലോക പരിസ്‌ഥിതി ദിനം മുദ്രാവാക്യം ഒരേഒരു ഭൂമി #OnlyOneEarth എന്നതാണ്. 

എന്ത് കൊണ്ട് ഒരേ ഒരു ഭൂമി? 

അതേ നിലവിൽ മനുഷ്യ വാസയോഗ്യമായ ഒരേഒരു ഗ്രഹം ഭൂമി മാത്രമാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഭൂമിയെ സംരക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടത് അത്യാവശ്യമാണ്. പരിസ്ഥിതി മലിനീകരണം അതിന്റെ പാരമ്യത്തിൽ എത്തി നിൽക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് നാം ജീവിക്കുന്നത്. അതിൽ പ്രധാനം പുനരുപയോഗയോഗ്യമല്ലാത്ത പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്കിന്റെ ഉപയോഗമാണ്. പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് മാലിന്യം മണ്ണിനെയും പുഴകളെയും സമുദ്രങ്ങളെയും ഒരുപോലെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. 

കോവിഡ്19 ആഞ്ഞടിച്ച രണ്ട്‌ കൊല്ലം കൊണ്ട് ഭൂമിയിൽ മുൻ വർഷങ്ങളെക്കാൾ എത്രയോ ഇരട്ടി മെഡിക്കൽ വെസ്റ്റാണ്  കുമിഞ്ഞ് കൂടിയത്. മാസ്കുകൾ, ഗ്ലൗസുകൾ, ഫേസ് ഷീൽഡുകൾ, പി പി ഇ കിറ്റുകൾ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഒരുപാട് ടൺ മാലിന്യങ്ങൾ അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായി ഉത്പാദിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടു കഴുഞ്ഞു. ഇവയും വലിയ വെല്ലുവിളിയാണ്. 

സമ്പൂർണ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് നിരോധനം സാധ്യമല്ല എന്നത് വസ്തുതയാണ്. അത് അംഗീകരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ എങ്ങിനെ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഉപയോഗം കുറയ്ക്കാം എന്നുള്ള ഞങ്ങളുടെ ചർച്ചകൾ എത്തിനിന്നത് ലീ ഏർത്ത് സസ്റ്റൈനബിൾ പ്രോഡക്ട്സ് എൽ എൽ പി എന്ന സാമൂഹിക സംരംഭത്തിലാണ്. ഇത് ഒരു സോഷ്യൽ എന്റർപ്രണർഷിപ് എന്ന രീതിയിൽ വിഭാവനം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ട പാട്ണർഷിപ്പ് സമ്പരംഭമാണ്. അതായത് പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് മാലിന്യം എന്ന സാമൂഹിക പ്രശ്നത്തെ ലീ എർത്ത് നേരിട്ട് പരിഹരിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.

Why only one land?

Earth is currently the only planet inhabited by humans. It is therefore essential to protect the earth. We live in a time when environmental pollution is at its peak. The most important of these is the use of non-recyclable plastics. Plastic waste is engulfing soil, rivers and oceans alike.

In the two-and-a-half years since Covid 19 struck, medical waste has doubled on Earth. Tons of waste such as masks, gloves, face shields and PPE kits were unexpectedly produced and washed away. These are also big challenges.

The fact is that a complete ban on plastics is not possible. Accepting this, our discussions on how to reduce the use of plastics came from Lee Earth Sustainable Products LLP, a social enterprise. It is a partnership venture envisioned as a social entrepreneurship. That is, Lee Earth seeks to directly address the social problem of plastic waste.

With the aim of reducing the use of plastic in daily life, Lee Earth brings to you plastic alternative products from the cottage industry, Kudumbasree communities, wheelchair persons and seamstresses.
