മന്ത്രി സജി ചെറിയാൻ രാജിവെച്ചു

ഭരണഘടനാ വിരുദ്ധ പ്രസ്താവനയെ തുടർന്ന് സജി ചെറിയാൻ രാജിവെച്ചു. രണ്ടാം പിണറായി മന്ത്രിസഭയിൽ ഫിഷറീസ് സാംസ്‌കാരിക വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രിയായിരുന്നു സജി ചെറിയാൻ. പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിലെ മല്ലപ്പള്ളിയിൽ നടന്ന പാർട്ടി പരിപാടിയിലാണ് സജി ചെറിയാൻ ഭരണഘടന വിരുദ്ധ പരാമർശങ്ങൾ നടത്തിയത്.  

ആദ്യം രാജി വയ്‌ക്കേണ്ട കാര്യം ഇല്ലെന്ന നിലപാടാണ് മന്ത്രിയും ഗവൺമെന്റും പാർട്ടിയും എടുത്തത്. എന്നാൽ വിഷയം പ്രതിപക്ഷം ശക്തമായി ഏറ്റെടുക്കുകയും ഗവർണർ വിശദീകരണം തേടുകയും ചെയ്ത സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ, കേസ് കോടതിയിലേക്ക് നീണ്ടാൽ ഉണ്ടായേക്കാവുന്ന നിയമ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ചൂണ്ടികാട്ടി അഡ്വക്കേറ്റ് ജനറൽ നൽകിയ നിയമോപദേശവും പരിഗണിച്ചാണ് മന്ത്രിയുടെ രാജി. മന്ത്രി തൽസ്ഥാനത്ത് തുടരുകയും കോടതിയിൽനിന്ന് മന്ത്രിക്കെതിരെ പരാമർശം ഉണ്ടായാൽ, അത് മന്ത്രിസഭയെ കൂടെ ബാധിക്കും എന്നതിനാൽ വിഷയം രാജിയിലൂടെ അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാനാണ് സിപിഎം ശ്രമം. 

ഈ വിഷയത്തിൽ കോടതി നടപടികൾ എം എൽ എ ആയി നേരിടാനാണ് സജിചെറിയാൻ്റെയും പാർട്ടിയുടെയും തീരുമാനം. 

Saji Cherian resigned following the unconstitutional statement. Saji Cherian was the Minister of Fisheries and Culture in the second Pinarayi Cabinet. Saji Cherian made anti-constitutional remarks at a party event held at Mallapally in Pathanamthitta district.

The minister, the government and the party have taken the stand that there is no need to resign first. But when the matter was strongly taken up by the opposition and the governor sought an explanation, the minister's resignation was based on the legal advice given by the advocate general pointing out the legal problems that may arise if the case goes to court. CPM is trying to end the matter by resigning as the minister continues in his post and there is a reference against the minister from the court, it will also affect the cabinet.

Sajicherian and the party have decided to face the court proceedings in this matter as MLAs.
