തുർക്കി, സിറിയ ഭൂകമ്പം - മരണം 7200 കടന്നു, മരണ സംഖ്യ ഉയർന്നേക്കും.

വൻ ഭൂകമ്പത്തിൽ തകർന്നടിഞ്ഞ തെക്കൻ തുർക്കിയിലും വടക്കൻ സിറിയയിലുമായി മരണസംഖ്യ 7200 കവിഞ്ഞു. പതിനായിരങ്ങൾക്കു പരുക്കേറ്റു. ആറായിരത്തിലേറെ തകർന്ന കെട്ടിടങ്ങൾക്കടിയിൽ ആയിരങ്ങൾ കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. കൊടുംതണുപ്പിലും ഇവരെ കണ്ടെത്താൻ തിരച്ചിൽ തുടരുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യ ഉൾപ്പെടെ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്നുള്ള സഹായം ഇരുരാജ്യങ്ങളിലേക്കും എത്തിത്തുടങ്ങി. റോഡുകൾ തകർന്നതിനാൽ അടിയന്തര വൈദ്യസഹായം ദുരന്തമേഖലയിലേക്ക് എത്താൻ വൈകുന്നുണ്ട്.

തിങ്കളാഴ്ച അതിശക്തമായ 3 ഭൂചലനങ്ങളാണുണ്ടായത്. പ്രാദേശിക സമയം തിങ്കളാഴ്ച പുലർച്ചെ 4.17ന് തുർക്കിയിലെ ഗസിയാൻടെപ്പിലായിരുന്നു 7.8  തീവ്രത രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ ആദ്യ ഭൂചലനമുണ്ടായത്. ഉച്ചയോടെ 7.5 തീവ്രതയുള്ള രണ്ടാം ചലനമുണ്ടായി. വൈകിട്ടോടെ 6  തീവ്രത രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ മൂന്നാമത്തേ ഭൂചലനവും ഉണ്ടായി. ഇതിനു പുറമേ തീവ്രത കുറഞ്ഞ 285  തുടർചലനങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായാതായി തുർക്കി അറിയിച്ചു. 

ആളുകൾ ഉറങ്ങി കിടക്കുന്ന പുലർച്ചെ ഉണ്ടായ ആദ്യ ഭൂ ചലനമാണ് അപകടത്തിന്റെ വ്യാപ്‌തി ഇത്രകണ്ട് ഉയർത്തിയതും, മരണ നിരക്ക് ഉയരാൻ ഇടയാക്കിയതും.

The death toll has exceeded 7,200 in southern Turkey and northern Syria, which have been devastated by a massive earthquake. Tens of thousands were injured. Thousands are trapped under more than 6,000 collapsed buildings. The search continues to find them even in extreme cold. Aid from countries including India started reaching both countries. Due to damaged roads, emergency medical aid is delayed in reaching the disaster area.

There were 3 strong earthquakes on Monday. The first earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 struck Gaziantep, Turkey at 4:17 a.m. local time on Monday. A second tremor of magnitude 7.5 occurred in the afternoon. A third earthquake of magnitude 6 also occurred in the evening. In addition, Turkey reported 285 aftershocks of lesser intensity.

It was the first tremor that struck in the early hours of the morning when people were sleeping, which raised the scale of the disaster and caused the death rate to rise.
