ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പുതിയ ഐ.ടി നിയമങ്ങൾ അഭിപ്രായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്​ തടയിടുന്നതാണ്​, പുനഃപരിശോധന വേണം - യു.എൻ

ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പുതിയ ഐ.ടി നിയമങ്ങൾക്കെതിരെ യു.എൻ രംഗത്ത്. പുതിയ ഐടി നിയമങ്ങൾ പുനഃപരിശോധിക്കണമെന്നും യു എൻ​ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.  ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പുതിയ നിയമങ്ങൾ അഭിപ്രായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്​ തടയിടുന്നതാണ്​ കാണിച്ച്​ യു.എൻ പ്രത്യേക പ്രതിനിധി ഇന്ത്യക്ക്​ കത്തയച്ചു. അന്താരാഷ്​ട്ര ചട്ടങ്ങളുടെ ലംഘനമാണെന്ന്​ കാണിച്ച്​ പുതിയ ഐടി നിയമങ്ങൾ പുനഃപരിശോധിക്കണമെന്നും യു.എൻ പ്രതിനിധി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്​. പുതിയ  ഐടി നിയമങ്ങൾ പാലിക്കാത്തതിനെ തുടർന്ന് ട്വിറ്റർ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ "സേഫ് ഹാർബർ പരിരക്ഷ" കേന്ദ്രസർക്കാർ എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.  

സിവിൽ പൊളിറ്റിക്കൽ അവകാശങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടുള്ള ഉടമ്പടികളുടെ അനു​​​ച്ഛേദം 17,19 എന്നിവക്ക്​ വിരുദ്ധമാണ്​ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഐ.ടി നിയമങ്ങളെന്ന്​ യു.എൻ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടുന്നു. 1979ൽ ഇന്ത്യ പ്രസ്തുത  ഉടമ്പടി അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും യു.എൻ വ്യക്​തമാക്കുന്നു.

നേരത്തെ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഐ.ടി നിയമങ്ങൾക്കെതിരെ ട്വിറ്റർ ഉൾപ്പടെ പല സമൂഹ മാധ്യമങ്ങളും രംഗത്തെത്തിയിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട്​ കേന്ദ്രസർക്കാർ സമ്മർദം ചെലുത്തിയതോടെയാണ്​ ഇവർ പുതിയ നിയമങ്ങൾ നടപ്പിലാക്കാൻ തയാറായത്. ​അതിനിടെ നിയമത്തിലെ ചില വിവാദ വ്യവസ്ഥകൾ ഒഴിവാക്കണമെന്ന്​ സമൂഹമാധ്യമങ്ങൾ കേന്ദ്രസർക്കാറിനോട്​ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടുവെന്ന റിപ്പോർട്ടുകളും പുറത്ത്​ വന്നിരുന്നു.

United Nation comes out against Indian new IT laws. The UN also called for a review of the new IT laws. The UN Special Representative has written to India showing that India's new laws are curbing freedom of expression. The UN representative has also demanded a review of the new IT laws on the grounds that they are in violation of international regulations. The union government had stripped Twitter India of its "safe harbor protection" after it failed to comply with the new IT laws.

The UN points out that India's IT laws are contrary to Article 17 and 19 of the Treaties on Civil Political Rights. The UN also makes it clear that India ratified the treaty in 1979. Earlier, many social media outlets, including Twitter, had come out against India's IT laws. Later, when pressure disputed by the central government, they were ready to implement the new laws. Meanwhile, there were reports that social media had asked the Central Government to get rid of some controversial provisions of the act.
