ടോക്യോ ഒളിമ്പിക്സ് - രവി കുമാറിലൂടെ ഗുസ്തിയില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയ്ക് വെള്ളിത്തിളക്കം
ഒളിമ്പിക് ഗുസ്തിയില്‍ ഇന്ത്യക്ക് വെള്ളി മെഡല്‍. പുരുഷന്‍മാരുടെ 57 കിലോഗ്രാം ഫ്രീസ്റ്റൈല്‍ വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ താരം രവി കുമാര്‍ ദഹിയക്ക് ഫൈനലില്‍ തോല്‍വി. റഷ്യന്‍ ഒളിമ്പിക് കമ്മിറ്റി താരം സോര്‍ ഉഗ്യുവിനോട് പൊരുതിത്തോറ്റു. ടെക്‌നിക്കല്‍ പോയിന്റില് മുന്നിട്ടുനിന്ന സോര്‍ ഉഗ്യു 7-4നാണ് വിജയിച്ചത്. അമേരിക്കയുടെ പാട്രിക് ഗില്‍മാന്‍ തോമസിനാണ് വെങ്കലം. റഷ്യന്‍ ഒളിമ്പിക് കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ താരം ആദ്യ പിരീഡില്‍ നാല് ടെക്‌നിക്കല്‍ പോയിന്റ് നേടിയപ്പോള്‍ രവി കുമാറിന് രണ്ട് പോയിന്റേ നേടാനായുള്ളു. രണ്ടാം പിരീഡിലും ടെക്‌നിക്കല്‍ പോയിന്റില് സോര്‍ ഉഗ്യു മുന്നിട്ടുനിന്നു.
ഗുസ്തിയില്‍ ടോക്യോ ഒളിംപിക്സിലെ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ആദ്യ മെഡലാണിത്. ഒളിമ്പിക് ഗുസ്തിയില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ രണ്ടാം വെള്ളി മെഡലും. നേരത്തെ സുശീല്‍ കുമാര്‍ വെള്ളി സ്വന്തമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒളിമ്പിക് ഗുസ്തി ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ആറാം മെഡലും. ടോക്യോയില്‍ ഇതുവരെ രണ്ടു വെള്ളിയും മൂന്നു വെങ്കലവും ചേർന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മെഡല്‍ നേട്ടം അഞ്ചായി.

Silver medal for India in Olympic wrestling. Indian star Ravi Kumar Dahia lost the final in the men's 57kg freestyle category. The Russian Olympic Committee star fought Sor Ugui. Sor Ugui, who was ahead in technical point, won 7-4. The bronze is for Patrick Gillman Thomas of the United States. Ravi Kumar could get only two points as the Russian Olympic Committee star scored four technical points in the first period. Sor Ugui was ahead in the second period and at the technical point.
This is India's first medal at the Tokyo Olympics in wrestling. And India's second silver medal in Olympic wrestling. Sushil Kumar had earlier won silver. And India's sixth medal in Olympic wrestling history. So far, India's medal tally in Tokyo has been increased to five with two silver and three bronzes.
