എയർ ഇന്ത്യ 18,000 കോടി രൂപയ്ക്ക് ടാറ്റ സൺസിന് വിറ്റു. എയർ ഇന്ത്യ കമ്പനി ടാറ്റ ഗ്രൂപ്പിന് കൈമാറുന്നതിനു കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാരിൻ്റെ ഔദ്യോഗിക അംഗീകാരം. 18,000 കോടി രൂപയ്ക്കാണ് വിമാനക്കമ്പനി ടാറ്റ ഗ്രൂപ്പിന് കൈമാറുന്നത്. ഡിസംബറിൽ ഏറ്റെടുക്കൽ പ്രക്രിയ പൂർത്തിയാകും. എയർ ഇന്ത്യ, എയർ ഇന്ത്യ എക്സ്പ്രസ് എന്നിവയുടെ 100 ശതമാനം ഓഹരികളും എയർ ഇന്ത്യ എയർപോർട്ട് സർവീസസ് പ്രൈവറ്റ് ലിമിറ്റഡിന്റെ 50 ശതമാനം ഓഹരിയുമാണ് ടാറ്റ ഏറ്റെടുക്കുന്നത്.

നഷ്ടത്തിലായ എയർ ഇന്ത്യ വിറ്റൊഴിവാക്കാനുള്ള സർക്കാർ ലേലത്തിൽ ടാറ്റ സൺസ് ഉയർന്ന തുക ക്വോട്ട് ചെയ്തതോടെയാണ് കമ്പനി വീണ്ടും ടാറ്റ ഗ്രൂപ്പിലേക്ക് എത്തുന്നത്. 1932ൽ ടാറ്റ സൺസ് ആരംഭിച്ച ടാറ്റ എയർലൈൻസ് ആണ് 1946ൽ എയർ ഇന്ത്യ ആയത്. 1953 ൽ കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാർ ടാറ്റയിൽനിന്നു കമ്പനി ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. 2007 മുതൽ നഷ്ടത്തിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന എയർ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 31 വരെയുള്ള ആകെ കടം 61,562 കോടി രൂപയാണ്. പ്രതിദിനം 20 കോടി രൂപയാണു നഷ്ടമെന്നു വ്യോമയാന മന്ത്രാലയം സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

ഇതിൽ 15,300 കോടി രൂപയുടെ കടം ടാറ്റ ഏറ്റെടുക്കും. ബാക്കി 46,262 കോടി രൂപ സർക്കാർ രൂപീകരിച്ച എയർ ഇന്ത്യ അസറ്റ്സ് ഹോൾഡിങ് ലിമിറ്റഡിന് കൈമാറും. എയർ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ 209 ജീവനക്കാരുടെ സംഘവും കമ്പനി ഏറ്റെടുക്കാൻ താൽപര്യപത്രം സമർപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിലും തള്ളിപ്പോയിരുന്നു. യുഎസിലെ ഇന്റർഅപ്സ് കമ്പനിയും രംഗത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും പിന്നീട് പിന്മാറി.

Air India sold to Tata Sons by Rs 18,000 crore. Central Government Officially approved the transfer of Air India Company to the Tata Group. The airline will be handed over to the Tata Group for Rs 18,000 crore. The acquisition process will be completed in December. Tata Motors will acquire 100 per cent stake in Air India and Air India Express and 50 per cent stake in Air India Airport Services Pvt.

Tata Sons has rejoined the Tata Group after quoting a higher price in a government auction to avoid the loss of Air India. Tata Airlines was started by Tata Sons in 1932 and became Air India in 1946. In 1953, the Central Government took over the company from Tata. Air India, which has been operating at a loss since 2007, has a total debt of Rs 61,562 crore as on August 31. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the loss is around Rs 20 crore per day.

Of this, Tata will borrow Rs 15,300 crore. The remaining Rs 46,262 crore will be transferred to the government-formed Air India Assets Holding Limited. A group of 209 employees of Air India had submitted a letter of intent to take over the company but it was rejected. The US interups company was also on the scene but later withdrew.
