മൈക്രോ ചിപ്പ് ഘടിപ്പിച്ച ഇന്ത്യൻ ഇ–പാസ്പോർട്ട് ഉടൻ വരും

ഇന്ത്യയിൽ മൈക്രോ ചിപ്പ് ഘടിപ്പിച്ച അതിസുരക്ഷയുള്ള ഇ–പാസ്പോർട്ടുകൾ  വൈകാതെ ഏർപ്പെടുത്തും. ഇമിഗ്രേഷൻ അടക്കമുള്ള വിമാനത്താവളങ്ങളിലെ  നടപടികൾ അനായാസം പൂർത്തിയാക്കാൻ ഇതു സഹായിക്കുമെന്ന് വിദേശകാര്യ സെക്രട്ടറി സഞ്ജയ് ഭട്ടാചാര്യ അറിയിച്ചു. വിവരങ്ങൾ ചോർത്താനോ പാസ്പോർട്ട് വ്യാജമായി നിർമിക്കാനോ സാധിക്കാത്ത വിധമായിരിക്കും ഇ–പാസ്പോർട്ടുകളുടെ നിർമാണം.

രാജ്യത്തെ 36 പാസ്പോർട്ട് ഓഫിസുകളും ഇ–പാസ്പോർട്ടുകൾ നൽകും. അപേക്ഷാ രീതികളിൽ മാറ്റമില്ല. 2021 ൽ ഇ–പാസ്പോർട്ടുകൾ നടപ്പാക്കാനായിരുന്നു ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചതെങ്കിലും കോവിഡ് പ്രതിസന്ധികൾ മൂലം നടപടികൾ നീണ്ടുപോയി. നാസിക്കിലെ ഇന്ത്യ സെക്യൂരിറ്റി പ്രസിലാണ് ഇ–പാസ്പോർട്ടുകൾ തയാറാക്കുന്നത്.   

Microchip-enabled high-security e-passports will be introduced in India soon. Foreign Secretary Sanjay Bhattacharya has said that this will help complete the process at airports, including immigration. E-passports will be designed in such a way that information cannot be leaked or forged.

All 36 passport offices across the country will issue e-passports. No change in application methods. It was intended to implement e-passports in 2021, but the process was delayed due to the Covid crisis. The e-passports are being prepared at the India Security Press in Nashik.
