മുംബൈയിലെ നാവിക ആസ്ഥാനത്ത് യുദ്ധക്കപ്പലിൽ സ്ഫോടനം. മൂന്നു മരണം, 11 പേർക്കു പരുക്ക്

മുംബൈയിലെ നാവിക ആസ്ഥാനത്ത് ഐഎൻഎസ് രൺവീർ യുദ്ധക്കപ്പലിലുണ്ടായ സ്ഫോടനത്തിൽ മൂന്നു നാവികസേനാംഗങ്ങൾ മരിച്ചു. 11 പേർക്കു പരുക്കേറ്റു. പരുക്കേറ്റവരെ കൊളാബയിലെ നാവികസേനാ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. മരിച്ചവരുടെ വിവരങ്ങൾ ഇതുവരെ നാവിക സേന പുറത്തു വിട്ടിട്ടില്ല. മലയാളികളില്ലെന്നാണ് സൂചന. ഇന്നലെ വൈകിട്ട് നാലരയ്ക്ക് കപ്പലിലെ എസി കംപാർട്മെൻ്റിലാണ് സ്ഫോടനം ഉണ്ടായത്. കപ്പലിൻ്റെ മുകളിലെ നിലയിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നവരാണ് മരിച്ചവരും പരുക്കേറ്റവരും. 

ആയുധങ്ങളും വെടിക്കോപ്പുകളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട മേഖലയിലല്ല സ്ഫോടനമെന്നത് വലിയ ദുരന്തം ഒഴിവാകാൻ ഇടയാക്കി. 1986ൽ കമ്മിഷൻ ചെയ്ത യുദ്ധക്കപ്പലാണ് ഐഎൻഎസ് രൺവീർ. വിശാഖപട്ടണത്തു നിന്നു മുംബൈ ആസ്ഥാനമായ പശ്ചിമ നാവിക കമാൻഡിൽ പരിശീലനത്തിനെത്തിച്ചതാണ് ഈ പടക്കപ്പൽ. ഗോവയടക്കമുള്ള മേഖലകളിലെ പരിശീലനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കി ഏതാനും ദിവസം മുൻപാണ് കപ്പൽ  മുംബൈയിലെത്തിയത്. നിർഭാഗ്യകരമായ സംഭവമാണെന്നും ഉടൻ സ്ഥിതി നിയന്ത്രണവിധേയമാക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞെന്നും അറിയിച്ച നാവിക സേന, ഈ സംഭവത്തിൽ ഉന്നതതല അന്വേഷണം പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Three naval personnel were killed in an explosion on the INS Ranvir warship at the naval headquarters in Mumbai. Eleven people were injured. The injured were taken to the Naval Hospital in Colaba. Details of the dead have not yet been released by the Navy. Indications are that there are no Malayalees. The bomber struck shortly after 4:30 a.m. in the ship's AC compartment. The dead and wounded were on the upper deck of the ship.

The fact that the blast was not in the area related to weapons and ammunition helped to avert a major catastrophe. INS Ranvir was a warship commissioned in 1986. The ship was brought from Visakhapatnam for training at the Mumbai-based Western Naval Command. The ship arrived in Mumbai a few days ago after completing training in areas including Goa. The navy said the incident was unfortunate and could be brought under control immediately, prompting a high-level inquiry into the incident.
