മലയാളത്തിൻ്റെ മഹാ നടി KPAC ലളിത അന്തരിച്ചു. കൊച്ചിയിലെ വസതിയിലായിരുന്നു അന്ത്യം. ദീർഘ നാളായി അസുഖ ബാധയെ തുടർന്ന് ചികിത്സയിലായിരുന്നു. അമരം, ശാന്തം എന്നീ സിനിമകളിലെ അഭിനയത്തിന് മികച്ച നടിക്കുള്ള ദേശീയ പുരസ്കാരം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. കെ പി എ സി നാടകങ്ങളിലൂടെയാണ് അഭിനയ രംഗത്തേക്ക് എത്തിയത്. മലയാളത്തിൻ്റെ യശ്ശശരീരനായ വിഘ്യാത സംവിധായകൻ ഭരതനാണ് ഭർത്താവ്. ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ കായംകുളത്തിനടുത്ത് രാമപുരത്ത് 1947 ഫെബ്രുവരി 25 നായിരുന്നു മഹേശ്വരിയമ്മ എന്ന ലളിത ജനിച്ചത്. ചങ്ങനാശേരി ഗീഥാ ആർട്സ് ക്ലബിന്റെ ബലി എന്ന നാടകത്തിലൂടെയാണ് നാടകരംഗത്ത് അരങ്ങേറിയത്. മൂലധനം, നിങ്ങളെന്നെ കമ്യൂണിസ്റ്റാക്കി തുടങ്ങിയ നാടകങ്ങളിൽ പാടി. പിന്നീട് സ്വയംവരം, അനുഭവങ്ങൾ പാളിച്ചകൾ, കൂട്ടുകുടുംബം, ശരശയ്യ, തുലാഭാരം തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രശസ്തമായ നാടകങ്ങളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചു. അക്കാലത്ത് തോപ്പിൽ ഭാസിയാണ് ലളിത എന്നു പേരിട്ടത്. കെ എസ് സേതുമാധവൻ 1970ൽ സംവിധാനം ഉദയായുടെ 'കൂട്ടുകുടുംബം' എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെയായിരുന്നു സിനിമയിലെ അരങ്ങേറ്റം. കെ പി എ സിയുടെ നാടകത്തിൻ്റെ ചലച്ചിത്രാവിഷ്കാരത്തിൽ, നാടകത്തിലെ അതേ കഥാപാത്രം തന്നെയായിരുന്നു ലളിതയ്ക്ക്. 1978 ൽ ആയിരുന്നു ഭരതനുമായുള്ള വിവാഹം. മലയാളത്തിലും തമിഴിലുമായി അഞ്ഞൂറിലേറെ ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Her husband is Bharathan, the famed Malayalam director. KPAC Lalitha alias Maheshwariamma was born on February 25, 1947 in Ramapuram near Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district. She made her acting debut with the play 'Bali' by Changanassery Geetha Arts Club. She sang for the plays Mooladhanam , Ningalenne Communistaakki. Later she acted in popular plays like Swayamvaram, Anubhavam Palichakal, Koottukudumbam, Sarasayya and Thulabharam. At that time, Thoppil Bhasi was named her as Lalitha. KS Sethumadhavan made his film debut in 1970 with Udaya's Koottukudumbam. In the film adaptation of KPAC's play, Lalitha played the same role in the play. She was married to Bharathan in 1978. She has acted in more than 500 films in Malayalam and Tamil.
