സുമിയില്‍നിന്നടക്കമുള്ള ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളെ ഒഴിപ്പിച്ചു. ഓപ്പറേഷൻ ഗംഗ അവസാനഘട്ടത്തിൽ
റഷ്യ താല്‍കാലിക വെടിനിര്‍ത്തല്‍ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയും യുക്രൈനില്‍ മാനുഷിക ഇടനാഴികൾ തുറക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതോടെ സുമിയില്‍നിന്ന് വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ള ഇന്ത്യക്കാരെ ഒഴിപ്പിച്ചു. സുമിയില്‍ കുടുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികൾ ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ളവരുടെ ഒഴിപ്പിക്കൽ പൂർത്തിയായതായി ഇന്ത്യൻ വിദേശമന്ത്രാലയം അറിയിച്ചു.
യുദ്ധബാധിത പ്രദേശമായ സുമിയില്‍നിന്ന് 694 ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളെയാണ് ഒഴിപ്പിച്ചത്. ഇതില്‍ പകുതിയോളം മലയാളികളാണെന്നാണ് ലഭ്യമാകുന്ന വിവരം. സുമിയില്‍നിന്ന് മധ്യ യുക്രൈന്‍ നഗരമായ പോള്‍ട്ടാവയിലേക്കാണ് കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നവരെ മാറ്റുന്നത്. വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികൾ ബസ്സില്‍ പോള്‍ട്ടാവയിലേക്ക് യാത്ര തിരിച്ചതായി കേന്ദ്ര മന്ത്രി ഹര്‍ദീപ് സിങ് പുരി അറിയിച്ചു.
ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളെ ഒഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് യുക്രൈന്‍ നഗരങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ മാനുഷിക ഇടനാഴി തുറക്കുമെന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ റഷ്യന്‍ എംബസി ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച രാവിലെ അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇതു സംബന്ധിച്ച് യുക്രൈനുമായി ധാരണയിലെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും റഷ്യ വ്യക്തമാക്കിയിരുന്നു.
