ട്വിറ്ററിനെ ഇലോണ്‍ മസ്‌ക് പൂര്‍ണമായി ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. ശതകോടീശ്വരനായ വ്യവസായി ഇലോണ്‍ മസ്‌ക് 4400 കോടി ഡോളറിനാണ് ട്വിറ്ററിനെ ഏറ്റെടുത്തത്. മസ്‌കിൻ്റെ ഓഫറിന് അനുകൂലമായി തീരുമാനമെടുക്കാരന്‍ ഓഹരി ഉടമകളില്‍നിന്ന് ട്വിറ്റർ ഡയറക്ടർ ബോർഡിന് സമ്മര്‍ദമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് അടിയന്തര പ്രാധാന്യത്തോടെ ബോര്‍ഡ് യോഗം ചേർന്ന് ഏറ്റെടുക്കല്‍ നടപടികള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു.

ഫോര്‍ബ്സ് പട്ടികയില്‍, ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും സമ്പന്നനായ വ്യക്തിയാണ് ഇലോണ്‍ മസ്‌ക്. അടുത്തിടെയാണ് മാസ്‌ക് ട്വിറ്ററില്‍ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന ഓഹരി പങ്കാളിയായത്. നിലവില്‍ കമ്പനിയില്‍ 9.2 ശതമാനം ഓഹരി നിക്ഷേപമുള്ള മസ്‌ക് ബോര്‍ഡ് അംഗത്വം വേണ്ടെന്ന് വെച്ച്, കമ്പനി ഏറ്റെടുക്കാനുള്ള താല്‍പര്യം അമേരിക്കന്‍ ഓഹരി വിപണി റെഗുലേറ്ററിനെ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി  അറിയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

അഭിപ്രായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യമുള്ള യഥാര്‍ത്ഥ പ്ലാറ്റഫോം ആയി മാറണമെങ്കില്‍ ട്വിറ്റര്‍ സ്വകാര്യ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ളതാവണം എന്നാണ് മസ്‌കിൻ്റെ നിലപാട്. കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറച്ച് ദിവസങ്ങളായി ട്വിറ്റര്‍ ഓഹരിയുടമകളുമായി മസ്‌ക് ചര്‍ച്ച നടത്തി വരികയായിരുന്നു.
