അല്‍ജസീറ മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തക ഇസ്രായേലില്‍ വെടിവെപ്പില്‍ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു
ഇസ്രായേലില്‍ വെടിവെപ്പില്‍ അല്‍ജസീറ മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തക കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു. പലസ്തീനിലെ വെസ്റ്റ് ബാങ്കില്‍ ഇസ്രായേല്‍ നടത്തിയ ആക്രമണത്തിനിടെയാണ്‌ അല്‍ജെസീറ മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തക ഷിറിന്‍ അബൂ അഖ്‌ല കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടതെന്ന് പാലസ്തീന്‍ ആരോഗ്യമന്ത്രാലയം ആരോപിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ ഈ ആരോപണം ഇസ്രായേല്‍ നിഷേധിച്ചു. വെസ്റ്റ് ബാങ്കിലെ ജെനിന്‍ നഗരത്തില്‍ ഇസ്രായേല്‍ സൈനിക നടപടി റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്യുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് സംഭവം.അല്‍ജസീറയുടെ അറബിക് ചാനലിലെ പ്രമുഖ മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകയായ ഷെറിന് തലക്കാണ് വെടിയേറ്റത്. ഗുരുതരമായ പരിക്കോടെ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല. മറ്റൊരു മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകന് പരിക്കേറ്റെങ്കിലും അപകട നില തരണം ചെയ്തുവെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍. മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകയാണെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും ഇസ്രയേൽ സേന അഖ്‍ലയെ നിഷ്കരുണം വധിക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് അൽ ജസീറ ചാനൽ ആരോപിച്ചു.
ഇസ്രയേലി സൈന്യം മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ക്ക് നേരെ വെടിയുതിര്‍ത്തതായി പാലസ്തീന്‍ ആരോഗ്യമന്ത്രാലയം ആരോപിച്ചു. എന്നാല്‍ പലസ്തീന്റെ ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നുണ്ടായ വെടിവെപ്പിലാണ് മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തക കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടതെന്ന് ഇസ്രായേല്‍ വിദേശകാര്യ മന്ത്രാലയത്തിൻ്റെ വിശദീകരണം. മൃതദേഹം വിദഗ്ധസംഘത്തെക്കൊണ്ട് പരിശോധിപ്പിക്കണമെന്നും സംയുക്ത അന്വേഷണത്തിനു തയാറാണെന്നും ഇസ്രയേൽ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നഫ്താലി ബെന്നറ്റ് അറിയിച്ചു.സംഘർഷം നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന പ്രദേശത്ത് വാർത്താ ശേഖരണത്തിനെത്തിയ അഖ്‌ലയും മറ്റ് റിപ്പോർട്ടർമാരും പ്രസ് എന്നെഴുതിയ പ്രത്യേക ജാക്കറ്റും ഹെൽമറ്റും ധരിച്ചിരുന്നു. ചെവിക്കു താഴെയാണ് വെടിയേറ്റത്. പല മാധ്യമസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള, ഈസ്റ്റ് ജറുസലമിൽ ജനിച്ച അഖ്‌ലയ്ക്ക് യുഎസ് പൗരത്വമുണ്ട്. 1997ലാണ് അൽ ജസീറയിൽ ചേർന്നത്.
Al Jazeera journalist killed in Israeli shooting The Palestinian Ministry of Health has accused Al Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Akhla of being killed during an Israeli attack on the Palestinian West Bank. But Israel has denied the allegations. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. He was hospitalized with serious injuries but could not save his life. Another journalist was injured but was pronounced dead at the scene. Al Jazeera reported that Akhla was brutally killed by Israeli forces despite knowing she was a journalist.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has accused the Israeli army of firing on journalists. However, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said that the journalist was killed in a shootout with the Palestinian side. Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett has said the body should be examined by a team of experts and is ready for a joint investigation. The shot was fired below the ear. Born in East Jerusalem, Akhla, who has worked for several media outlets, is a U.S. citizen. She joined Al Jazeera in 1997.
