തൃക്കാക്കര ഉപതിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് - ഉമാ തോമസ് യുഡിഫ് സ്ഥാനാർഥി

തൃക്കാക്കര ഉപതിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ ഉമാ തോമസ് യുഡിഫ് സ്ഥാനാർഥി. അന്തരിച്ച മുൻ എം എൽ എ പി ടി തോമസിൻ്റെ ഭാര്യയാണ് ഉമാ തോമസ്. തൃക്കാക്കര മണ്ഡലത്തിലേക്കുള്ള ഉപതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ യുഡിഫ് ആണ് ആദ്യം സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥിയെ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നത്. കെപിസിസി നൽകിയ പേര് ഹൈകമാൻഡ് അംഗീകരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

ഉമാ തോമസിന്റെ പേര് മാത്രമാണ് കെപിസിസി പരിഗണിച്ചതും ഹൈകമാൻഡിലേക്ക് നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചതും. പി ടി തോമസിന് മണ്ഡലവുമായുള്ള വൈകാരിക ബന്ധമാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പത്‌നിയെ തന്നെ രംഗത്തിറക്കി മണ്ഡലം പിടിക്കാനുള്ള തീരുമാനത്തിലേക്ക് കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് നേതൃത്വത്തെ എത്തിച്ചത്. ഒറ്റക്കെട്ടായാണ് കേരളത്തില്‍ സ്ഥാനാര്‍ഥി നിര്‍ണയം നടത്തിയതെന്ന് കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് നേതാക്കള്‍ നേരത്തെ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

ഹൈക്കമാൻഡ് തീരുമാനം വന്നതിന് പുറകെ ഉമാ തോമസ് മണ്ഡലത്തിൽ പ്രചാരണം തുടങ്ങി. ഡൊമനിക് പ്രസൻ്റെഷൻ ഉൾപ്പടെ ജില്ലയിലെ പ്രധാന നേതാക്കൾ തൻ്റെ വിജയത്തിനായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുമെന്ന ശുഭാക്തി വിശ്വാസം ഉമാ തോമസ് പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു.

Uma Thomas UDF candidate in Thrikkakara by-election. Uma Thomas is the wife of the late former MLA APT Thomas. In the by-election to Thrikkakara constituency, UDF will announce the candidate first. The name given by the KPCC was approved by the High Command. Only the name of Uma Thomas was considered by the KPCC and recommended to the High Command. PT Thomas' emotional connection with the constituency led the Congress leadership to field his wife and decide to hold the constituency. Earlier, Congress leaders had said that the decision to field a candidate in Kerala was taken unanimously. Following the High Command's decision, Uma Thomas began campaigning in the constituency. Uma Thomas expressed optimism that key leaders in the district, including Dominic Presentation, would work for her success.
