തൃക്കാക്കര ഉപതിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ ഉമാ തോമസിന് വൻ വിജയം. 25016 വോട്ടിൻ്റെ ഭൂരിപക്ഷമാണ് ഉമാ തോമസ് നേടിയത്. മണ്ഡല രൂപീകരണത്തിന് ശേഷം നടന്ന മൂന്ന് വോട്ടെടുപ്പിലെയും ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന ഭീരിപക്ഷമാണ് പി ടി തോമസിൻ്റെ മരണത്തെ തുടർന്ന് നടന്ന ഉപതിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ പി ടി തോമസിൻ്റെ ഭാര്യ ഉമാ തോമസ് നേടിയത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ തവണ 13000 വോട്ട് നേടിയ ട്വൻറി 20 ഇത്തവണ മത്സര രംഗത്ത് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല എന്നതും ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ കാര്യമാണ്.
