New UPI app - PayRup is coming. 5% cash back on all transactions.

A new UPI (Unified Payment Interface) app is also coming, allowing seamless digital payments and money transfers. With this app named PayRup, everyone can make financial transactions in the easiest and most convenient way. The concept and design of PayRup is simple and offers more cashbacks than using current UPI apps. PayRup can be downloaded now through iOS and Android platforms.

The Malayalee touch of PayRup

In 2017, the start-up company, which started small in Alappuzha, later shifted its operations to Bangalore and launched a UPI app called PayRup. The first website was started with 4 employees with a capital of 10 lakh rupees.

Under the leadership of Suresh Kumar, who has 20 years of experience in the banking sector, this app was developed as part of the Central Government's Digital India project. Pay Roop is operated by NPCI under RBI. As part of further expansion, the company moved to Bangalore in December 2019, taking the number of employees to twenty-five.

After demonetization came into effect on November 8, 2016, and it was decided to promote digital payments, there was a revival in this sector. The PayRup app was launched with an aim to extend the service to rural areas and not just in urban areas. RBI's TPAP license will be available soon. The service has been made available through Euronet (Global market leader in digital payment) from NPCI (National Payment Corporation of India).

To bigger goals

In the next 2 years, PayRup aims to take the UPI market leadership in Kerala and achieve 25% market share in the country. Daily transactions of 10 crores are expected. Malayali Suresh Kumar and Vishal Nair also from Bangalore Mahadevappa Halakati, a native, are the driving force behind this new app. All the tests of the app have reached the final stage. Once this is completed, the PayRup - UPI service will be available.
